The new wearable blurs the line between a smart device and a fashion accessory.

Still no cross industry OS. I don't see a reliable baseline to compare.
Where's the article on the verasity of their readings?
Is that my actual heart rate? Can these readings challenge or compare to a Dr.?
It's just a toy until you can verify it.

The HUGE bezels are unnecessary. They can be (almost) eliminated so there is a 90%+ screen to body ratio. A waste of surface display space.

no spotify, no strava, no voice assistant, no nfc payment, no notification reply... so, this is basically a fancy looking smart band. why pay smartwatch price to a smart band?

You just skimmed through the basic features of the watch. I was hoping for more info on the software. Are notifications better? does it have a keyboard? what about the new multitasking feature? Can I arrange the music tracks on the watch? Can I use timers during workouts?

Armorkingu, 16 Oct 2023GT3 user here. Their UI is so flawed, if you are listening ... moreSame for using the timer during the exercise. The GT4 allows simple multitasking though. I hope we get that via an update.

This should not be called a review. Especially for those planning to use the device to track activities do not get any information out of the test.
Big text parts of the review are just feature listing of the smartwatch where I am not sure what had been tested at all.

The review also starts with the out-of-mind-strong statement the GT 3 "was way ahead of the competition". (Just) quickly reading through the old article I don't see even close a verdict to those strong words.

This starts like I want to bash the Huawei watch which is not the case. I used the GT 2 as my main smartwatch quiet some time and really liked it, but switched to a Garmin watch because I missed several features when it comes to a more active lifestyle. Some of them are still missing 2 generations later. Maybe in a few Years it has everything I need then I can think to give it another try.

To compare it with its competitors. This field would need to be defined. The basic featured like notifications all are doing more or less the same. Decision points are design, quality, health and sport features.
While the GT 4 provides a very good hardware basis it lacks several software features like map navigation (in activities) it can not compete with most sport watches from Garmin, Suunto and Coros.

GT3 user here. Their UI is so flawed, if you are listening to MP3s stored in watch, then begin an exercise program, you cannot change the music volume unless you exit your exercise program and only then can you adjust your music volume.

Does it have any NFC or ways to pay in Europe for example?
