There is only so much room for improvements on a tiny camera that can fit into a phone. You cannot cheat physics. Improvements in ML and generative AI will bring more significant boost in user facing quality.

They are welcome to reverse engineer my 3 years old Huawei mate x2. It's been three years and the crease is way better than out of the box Samsung fold 5 with 3x 10x optical zoom and 66w charger. Things Samsung says it can't be achieved in a foldable

There is also the fact that Samsung wants to apply Apple's formula! Guess why Samsung will use same camera again? Because they have many stocks at warehouse. Nobody buy it. Other phone manufacturer choose new Sony lytia camera for flagship or go cheap for omnivision for middle and low end. Only pixel phone use it because bundling with tensor chips 😁.
