Some concepts don't become products, some do, and some are just products (the V Purse for example literally released 2 and a half weeks after it was first shown as a 'concept'). This is one of those that likely won't become one.

Bending a battery constantly would probably make it explode, my guess is that the top and bottom areas of the phone are more rigid than the large middle of it, so it can store the battery, cameras, most of the internals - without bending them.
That would mean the battery would be VERY small though given a lot of the middle is bendable.

Peter UK, 25 Oct 2023Well the way I see it, my S23 Ultra is amazing and all but ... moreOr buy a smaller phone. A smaller phone like the S23, may not have all the extra quirks and spotlights of the Ultra, but it sure will be overall better spec-packed than this 'adaptive display' concept. I mean that would really be the only advantage; some space saving and portability, but what about the hardware? Bending battery? Or the camera bump. Is it going to bend too? I don't see this concept hitting the markets anytime soon...and if it does, it'll go down just as fast as it came out

David 040882, 25 Oct 2023Cool and all, but really, how can that be useful? Plus, I... moreWell the way I see it, my S23 Ultra is amazing and all but I can't put it in all my pockets. Some jeans or shorts I have to skip unless I have backpack or hoodie with pockets as my phone simply won't fit. If world is going into foldable direction, this would automatically be a resolution to that problem.

Will anyone actually buy it? Maybe. Will it release within this decade? Probably. We're in 2024 (end of 2023) and 6 years until the 2020's are over.

Pretty useless in the context of a phone.
It would make more sense if you could roll the entire phone into a rectangular shape or in a way that takes up less space in pocket, but what they showed here doesn't look practical

Cool and all, but really, how can that be useful? Plus, I'm pretty sure you would have to ditch the camera in order for it to completely bend. Innovative? Yeah, maybe, but useful?
