Windows Phone love please!!
I remembered when Nokia offered BBM in its premium E Series devices back then until Blackberry pulled the plug. Blackberry is probably regretting that now.

Great News, I like it, because for the business person like me, if we want to use BBM we must have 2 mobile phones, like Android and BlackBerry, we must bring all of them when we want to hangout. It will make I feel noisy when I receive many of IM, message, email, and PING!!!. Now I can leave my BB on my bedroom, but I will always use it. Thanks RIM(Research In Motion)

woow, it's a big mistake for BlackBerry ltd. i think people will choose iDevice or Android better than BB handheld.

All this means is that people will be ditching their BBs and embracing the other platforms.

I catty my BB and my Lumia 920 around, but let me tell you, the moment my Lumia gets BBM, the BB is out the window.

They are diluting the business! There would be no exclusivity having a Blackberry after that! BBM is the only the reason people are still using Blackberry, if they find it in other phones nobody's going to stick to BB anymore. They're promoting the business of the rivals!

Why no BBM for Windows Phone?
Or Blackberry feels threatened by WP, so now it is joining hands with rivals?

I think instead of making BBM available for cross platform, they shud have opted for tweaking iOS apps & Google Play Apps in BB World.

etisi07, 15 May 2013This is the only thing - BBM that gives BlackBerry smart ph... moresuperior operating systems? have you used the BB10?

i have and i have the Z10. please use the device before bashing.

the BB10 is the most intuitive platform out there. other platforms have their weaknesses and strengths as well as the BB10 but this one is made for business and it flows. i just bought the HTC one for my wife but what stands out in Android its the technologies used and the hardwares usually.

i think its a good move. most people dont see the long term prospect.
BB realized it was losing sale regardless of the BBM being on its platform.
infact, i think its a great move: on software level, they will hit 2 birds with one stone: they will hit the crappy Skype with their video messaging and they will hit whatsapp with their text messaging. whatsapp really hurt BBM in the last year or 2. many people i know jumped from BBM to whatsapp due to it being cross platform. i have a BB (z10) which is a fantastic phone by its own merits and its far more suitable for business use than android for example and they are slowly improving in terms of providing what Android phones do nowadays of technology.the BB i have, i hardly use the BBM on it anymore as predictably many people i know own Android/Ios devices so there is no point of using a platform with fewer people on it. i still use BBM at times but mostly the whatsapp. BB realized this and it realize its a matter of time before the BBM loes its userbase even in some of their biggest markets like Indonesia/india etc.
this move will make the likes of whatsapp and skype worry a bit. maybe a lot. if BBM can provide an excellent alternative to the crappy skype and to a decent whatsapp then they are in the game. you know the first app everyone will download on the IOS/Android will be the BBM once its released.
the other added advantage is one of their main targets will be Windows phones as they didnt announce the BBM for windows phone. we have heard nokia/MS speaking openly on how they want to be the 3rd platform and with people seeing how nokia is acting erratically and people in general not being interested in windows phones i believe this will lead to people ditching their windows phones if the BBM turns out to be a successful alternative to both whatsapp and skype, this will surely hurt windows phones in particular.
i cant predict how this will pan out. initially their sales will probably dip as many will switch to android devices but those would have move on with time in any case but they may gain more in the long term.

This is the only thing - BBM that gives BlackBerry smart phones strength. If u make it available to iOS and Android, can u stand their superior operating systems? I think BlackBerry is just embarking in an ill-fated venture.
