Imagine that you need to compare your new flagship with year old model of a Samsung top end flagship and still fail very hard.
Camera on phones can be as good as possible but it wont make good picture still if the operator behind the camera dont know what his doing so even budget phones cameras can do good pictures if the person who is making the pictures is good at it.
Also even professional photographers need to make like 100 plus pictures of one object to get the 1-2 good pictures out of it

The Poco F5 is a solid competitor of the Google pixel 8 pro

Overall galaxy is a better phone. Pixel has long history of quality issue. Google is the designer of Android yet pixel has more bugs than any other smartphone.
8 pro would be a better buy at $900, no way at this price it's offered for.

"The Pixel's 10x output from its large-ish Quad Bayer-type sensor (on its otherwise 5x camera) does compare well to the Galaxy's dedicated 10x shooter - the Samsung does have the upper hand in sharpness"
No, I don't think so. In the sample image, the S23 Ultra just oversharpens at 10x. I think I see slightly more detail in the 10x photo of the 8 Pro and this is explainable because the 8 Pro offers more pixels per angle and theoretically, also suffers less from diffraction.
By the way, in a store I tested that my 7 Pro outperforms the S23 Ultra at 360mm with Google's short Night Sight mode.

Only stock Android stands out here, nothing else! pit the pixel 8 pro against the oneplus 11 and the Sony Xperia 1v
