Youtube also shoves ads on some channels, raking all profits and giving back nothing to creators.

YT is using content creators as an excuse to pitch in extra money. Even if youtubers added ads into their videos, theyd get barely any money than, let's say, using Patreon. Youtube premium is a pathetic and terrible service, too, just like Google in a nutshell

      Just install DuckDuckGo browser, still in Beta, on Desktop. It's 'Duck Player' blocks all those ads. Unfortunately, 'Duck Player' is not yet available on their mobile browsers. On mobile, instead of default YouTube app, use open source alternatives like LibreTube or NewPipe which blocks all those ads.

        YouTube is practically a monopoly in user generated video streaming platform. The only feasible competitor is TikTok.

            So far, ublock origin is still working in stopping this. The upcoming 'war' will be interesting indeed.

            This reminds me of Twitch and them trying to stop ad blocking. It didn't work.

            YouTube is even bigger than Twitch, yeah, they're going to have some of the best developers in the world hacking their shit on this one. It won't work.

              I use YouTube only on my TV which doesn't have an adblocker. So no change for me. But ads are very bad.

                I just finished watching a video in Revanced Extended. No ads. Even in my PC, both Edge and Firefox have ubLock Origins, Sponsorblock, Enhancer for YouTube and RYD extensions. Haven't been greeted with that message yet.

                    I see creators who still think that ads help them to get revenue. Sorry, but it never always has been the case. Just look at more popular channels, as they always do sponsor plugging or crowdfunding tiers. Relying on ads alone isn't going to cut it.

                      Stop using youtube, problem solved.

                              ublock origin works, if not, open the link in incognito/private mode with your adblocking software. As long as you are not log in to youtube, adblocking software still works

                                Youtube is big and can AT THE MOMENT stir up some trouble.
                                However, with the introduction of Grayjay it's just a matter of time before they push their users to other platforms. When you're the market leader you have a lot of power but you also have the most to lose - Market forces in effect.

                                    Here's a Ublock alternative for both mobile and pc.

                                    Use brave browser and go to

                                    brave://components

                                    and update all of the stuff in there.


                                    Or better yet, learn to use old school RSS so you can keep up with youtube without logging in. Can't ban anyone not logged in lmao.

They, along with Brave Browser, couldn't go all out with their plans especially the crypto ones due to regulations by US authorities.

                                        2. Purge All Caches
                                        3. Update.
