i'm also not using any smartwatch but i'm guessing a smartwatch will drain more battery for any phone

Yesterday I've been using my vivo X Note, which is 8 Gen 1 powered just saying, that's not even an efficient chipset to begin with, yet it could still easily last me the whole day, which started at 4 o'clock in the morning and ended at 11 o'clock at night, mobile data was turned on the whole time, I was constantly getting notifications, max brightness, max refresh rate and resolution, everything, didn't use power saving mode, and didn't charge it during the day. I was using the camera a lot, alongside messaging apps and GSMArena, payed with my phone a lot and such, but no I don't have a smartwatch, as I feel no need for it and I also obviously have no need for WeChat either.

If you have say 2 Gmail accounts, Instagram, WhatsApp, WeChat, Signal and a smartwatch connected 3-4% idle drain per hour is the norm and you won't get less than 10% per hour or screen on time. That's just outright horrible. And yeah removing wechat solves loads but wechat is the norm and must for communication in China.

Topofan, 01 Nov 2023And to get real info about battery life of vivo phones, it ... moreyou are exaggerating , while on vacation where I use the phone with heavy tasks like taking pics, using gps and mostly on mobile data and with power saving enabled , i arrive at night at the hotel room with 20-30% battery.
at home with no power saving i end the day with 30-40% with 5-6 hours of screentime.
My battery health on x90 pro+ is at 97% after about 8 month of usage but most of the time i charge it with a samsung charger and use fast only when needed.
Hopefully origin os4 fixes the idle battery drain which is the only thing i hate about this phone.

To do that it just switches on the cameras and films around trying to decide by AI if you are passenger or driver. No kidding - been shown in some video on bilibili already.
Next step is to call the authorities automatically if you're speeding and decrease your social credit score. That's not yet implemented but will likely come in a few years.
The AI can already book you tickets based on your schedule, create your schedule based on the emails you received and so on. Loads of new functions in OS4.0 if you're inside China - and that is the real new thing about OS4.0 - the new little blue assistant that does nearly everything for you - or an extended ChatGPT.

And to get real info about battery life of vivo phones, it is sufficient to read the comments below any video about origon os 4.0 on Bili. The comments are overflowing about shitty battery life, best acessory to X90P+ is a power bank, because it won't make it home from work without a recharge. And the dual cell batteries from Vivo are missing overcharge protection hence most people after one year already at 80-85% capacity left (if using quick charging).
Most of this is due to chinese spyware - but hard to get any decent battery life on any china OS firmware, yeah even Iphones in China way worse than outside, but Vivo is just at the bottom of the barrel. Only Iphone and Honor on China OS survive quite well.
It's simple, don't buy a phone with Origin OS if not speaking Chinese, because you will lose half the features. But yeah - looks like the voice detection was heavily improved - so if you can talk chinese but not write, OS4 is a huge improvement and Jovi finally usable. But yeah forget Jovi if you can only use English.
