so all the hard work NOKIA put into shouldn't matter? doesnt matter when but at any point NOKIA people invented or developed something and they are entitles to get something for that if other companies use their technology. not interested in paying for a IP, develop your own thing. its so simple.

I havent read any comment, but I bet there is something saying " Nokia should focus on making good phones" , when Nokia does not have cellphone business.

Somehow ( maybe stupidity) some here think HMD is mobile division of Nokia

    🤣🤣🤣

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2023It seems like all Nokia does is take action against compani... morereal nokia, don't do phones anymore. hmd does. even hmd want to make phones for its own brand, not for nokia brand.

Oh look, its post-"Nokia vs BBK patents" war?

Nokia dont make phones! It's HMD that makes phones with Nokia branding and have rights to use Nokia patents to make these phones

It seems like all Nokia does is take action against companies, while making trash phones at the same time

Its not because nokia not make money but this is something they must do because they own the patent.

Anton el duro, 01 Nov 2023shark mind bro, money never comes with good actions, if you... moreWhats dirty about that ?
I would say dirty is the way soviet union was with this. People come up with inventions and went to patent them and they just took the invention and the inventor didnt get anything.

These companies invest there money and then have the rights for the patents as the people who invented got there piece from the pie. As in most cases the inventors dont have capital to make there invention to market

They invest heavily into any company which shows potential and their patents and then once another company starts making large profits they sue them.
Philips literally survives by purely being a 100 + year old company with thousands of pattens same as Nokia.
And not to mention Philips owns massive shares in TSMC, the world's leading microchip company.
Both Norway and Sweden used their banks to back up western companies in Usa and West Europe and own shares in them, and basically earn passive income for a century now. That's the smart way to do it.
In fact. That's what Tencent has been doing over the last 20 years, literally invest small % into every company out there.Small or big. New or old.

On the other hand, it seems that THIS NOKIA, which is the original, is in trouble again with money...

These gringo businessmen want to do things their way and things are not like that

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2023This is the only way Nokia can make money now. It's not the HMD that use Nokia branding you talk about

Amazon and HP basically pirating the technology without wanting to pay the fees of other companies R&D
They took the risk and now need to pay for it and also get there brands defamed in the progress.

I would also not allow any ahole just take my researches and give me nothing after i infested billions in R&D. But hey, you know better then anyone, right?

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2023This is the only way Nokia can make money now.Actually nokia already sold their patent rights to IP lawyer company.
This is around after nokia lumpia failed.

I agree with purple Anon. You know its bad when they start going after infringed parents from years ago. Isn't there an expiration date?

                                    Nice money-making plan.

This is the only way Nokia can make money now.

Mostly I'd say a company going after patents so hard and late after use is a dying company. Yet in this case they negotiated terms before hand and was denied. Time to have theie day in court.

Curious why hP & Amazon engineers didn't look towards their competitors to see what alternatives they were using and switch their infrastructure and make a counter offer for patents used until the switch? Lawyers are not gonna help much after the notification and attempted deal.
