The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy will feature a 1 GHz GPU

02 November 2023
That's a 28% faster clock speed than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy.

Also, I strongly smell over boosting gen2=gen3, like many said here. Yeah they did like Samsung, overboosting for benchmarks at the price of heat, throttle, drain.
No real performance gain, except draining lot battery.
Just a guess, we will know in real soon, after s24 launch. I don't trust much on those Chinese 8gen3 phones.

Then apple not better, seem tsmc 3nm is half failure for a17.

Wait 2024, should be better, revision of tsmc 3nm and Samsung probably on 3nm too.

Not math, short for mathematic. Mathematics is a plural. Also, I was correcting the article, trying to be helpful. I'm not sure why you decided to try and correct my English, which helps nobody.

1Ghz GPU with only only 50% on use because of heat problems.! why I need this junk!?even android updates are useless nowadays, only UI changes with no relevant update to the system. Bring back the SD card, this is what real fans want.!

I would really feel more excited about huge battery life improvements and some additions to the S-pen. A lighter body wouldn't be a bad thing as well.

is it possible to add amd FSR on a phone? i read that it was a software and open source, even nvidia product can use it. if can, it would be marvelous.

kingjay, 02 Nov 2023Exynos, Apple and MTK all have 1GHZ gpus already. But on a desktop.

I really don’t get the hype. I mean it’s nice to have new internals, but I rather have an improved battery life and dedicated AI chip like on the Pixel. There’s no point in having a more powerful CPU/GPU at this point. The vast majority of high end phone users are not gaming anyways at least not to be able to tell the difference.

Apart from peak performance how much can is sustain no point if same as normal 8 gen 3. The power leveld at 900mhz looking like 12 13w up from 8w at 770mhz by at 1ghz 15w+
unless they hand-picked binned chips s24 must have some monster cooling

I really hope that we can disable this overclocking as I'd imagine at this clock speed you'd be lucky to get 4 hours of battery life doing heavy gaming with this chip.
