I don't think they stole it per se. It was Samsung's own former executives who sold them the information. For consumers, it's good that we now have more OLED competitors in the market. It will bring the cost down in the long run. We all know how expensive OLED display replacements can be. Samsung might not like it, as they'll lose some of that market share.
