04 November 2023
The S24 and S24+ aren't getting it, however.

I'm sure Apple and Samsung share the same dev team. The flat screen is good news.

            Samsung doesn't care about users,
            We asked for :
            flat screen
            No downgrades 4 two years
            Better battery life
            No camera problems
            Smoother software
            Better night pictures and videos
            S21 ultra speakers
            16 GB ram

Biggest news here seems to be the flat screen. Much more interesting than titanium frame to me.

[deleted post]You realise there are different plastics just like there are different metals, right? Some aerospace grade plastics are more durable and expensive than common metals…

Rly, 04 Nov 2023I rly don't care if it's wooden, plastic or titan... moreNot a leather case here, but these things are way yoo clunky and expensive to not use a case

Last phone I didn't use one was with a LG G3, but everything after that I did.

1- Make phones bigger to include bigger screens and bigger batteries for screen time addicts, because more ads and more data collection = more money
                        2- Phones get too heavy
3- Announce “premium” material to reduce the weight and justify the “premium” cost of the smart brick
                        4- Repeat

CargoJoe, 04 Nov 2023If they can keep weight under 200g with this titanium it... moreS23 Ultra is already at 234 g. The weight of the titanium S24 Ultra is somewhere closer to that as well. The difference is negligible, I would assume. I doubt it'll get under 200 g, sorry.

CargoJoe, 04 Nov 2023If they can keep weight under 200g with this titanium it... moreLike a phone with a 6.8-inch screen and camera lenses and like 5 sensors plus the battery will only weigh 200 grams or less? no matter how much titanium it has?

Titanium has really bad heat dissipation compared to Aluminium, why on earth they start to put titanium in phones? It's a really bad application.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2023tell me what exactly apple copied from Samsung?!Oled

If they can keep weight under 200g with this titanium it'll be great.

Zendroid, 04 Nov 2023So it will be a tiny titanium block like the iPhone? Or wil... moreI would assume it's just the frame that is titanium. The inside is probably going to be aluminum, like usual, as it has high thermal conductivity for heat dissipation. I don't understand why Samsung would jump on the bandwagon with titanium.

I hope they'll find a way to dissipate the heat somewhere, as that titanium frame is like a thermal insulator and can cause heat buildup on the inside, resulting in a decrease in performance. I think the first thing that would give out is the adhesive around the device, as the heat would melt it away. I guess we're going to hear about the back glass accidentally coming off on S24 Ultra soon enough. 🤷‍♂️

                                      Titanium so overhyped.

As a lifelong apple user (all iphones and macbooks, airpods etc) I had the titanium watch and returned it in the second week. Why? Because after one week, it had all these scratches on it and I hadn't hit my watch once, on anything! Same advertising back then, was that it was super strong etc ans better than stainless steel. It was not. I replaced it with a SS and 3 years later not one scratch. Smacked the crop out of it.

Anyway, I purchased an S23 ultra last week. Best phone I've ever had.
