I just want the most efficient chip for the longest battery life.

It just so happens that the most efficient chip also happens to be the fastest chip, too.

Mills, 12 Nov 2023Flagship chipsets if your planning years of use. MId range ... moreFlagships are double the price and it's quite unlikely it will last double the mid-ranger's time, so in terms of cost-effectiveness, mid-rangers win.

im prefer decent cpu with super low power consumption.. we dont need ps4/ps5/pc visual qualiti in mobile gaming ..
Intensive gpu make the chip run hotter and hotter.. more transistors count means more heat to generate from the soc...

justasmile, 12 Nov 2023You gotta thank the 108mp for that. Though, it's still... morehow is it beaten? it's the best camera phone. Already got first place on DXOMARK and GSMArena..

Flagship chipsets if your planning years of use. MId range for 2/3 years

Poco F5 just got a long term review, I didn't know you needed more for a flagship SoC. For what?

They never mattered to me and neither does AI. I have my own brain and don't appreciate AI "thinking" for myself.
I don't play games either and I really appreciate 3.5mm jacks, so there's 0 reason to pay tons of money (My PC costs half the flagship's price and it's used all the time and will probably last 4 times more than my phone).

rizki1, 12 Nov 2023back in 2019 Mi Note 10 was the best camera phone but used ... moreYou gotta thank the 108mp for that. Though, it's still beaten by ones which used a flagship chipset (and have a lower megapixel count).

777cobalt, 12 Nov 2023Software is going to continue to get more bloated, so yes. ... moreYour post doesn't make sense.
Flagship SoC usually produce more heat so just because Tensor is abysmal doesn't mean you need a flagship SoC to avoid overheating.

justasmile, 12 Nov 2023If you want to take good pictures, a flagship chipset still... moreback in 2019 Mi Note 10 was the best camera phone but used the mid range SD730G.

If you want to take good pictures, a flagship chipset still matters as well.

If you want to take good videos (don't need to be 4k 60fps, just a good quality 1080p 60fps would be enough), a flagship chipset still matters as well.

If you want your phone to last long, a flagship chipset still matters as well.

There are tons of other reasons why a flagship chipset still matters.

Software is going to continue to get more bloated, so yes. My phone's Tensor G1 seems to get hot more often after I updated to Android 14. I know that chip is notorious for having heat issues but the update made it an even bigger problem. Poor optimization is very common nowadays.
