The normal Razr goes for $500 in the US (it's on sale almost every day...). I don't like Samsung products, but at least people will finally have an affordable foldable with a decent update policy.

They'll need to offer an outer display though. It's cheap and far more convenient.

Mills, 10 Nov 2023S23 FE is on sale rn IIRC where it has a 8 Gen 1 for around... moreExynis 1280 or 1380 is much more likely than a snapdragon. A foldable costs extra due to the hinge mechanism and so the only way they can target this price is to use an absolutely budget chip.

FatShady, 10 Nov 2023we're talking about scammy here and not realme, xiaomi... moreS23 FE is on sale rn IIRC where it has a 8 Gen 1 for around 499. THe phone is normally 630 bucks. I doubt if the S23 has a 8 Gen 1 @ 630, the Flip6FE will get it too for 599. Probably an 888 or 778G

if samsung puts an 8 gen 1 in there...or a mid range exynos.....
hopefully they put a half decent chip, decent cameras and not a 70% screen to body ratio

Anyways, There are phones out there with 500 USD and they have a better chip. Take Note 12 Turbo from Redmi/Xiaomi (https://www.ebay.com/itm/204288073934)

I mean, nice that the price is lower but Flip style foldables are still useless because they are bar phones with an extra step of opening them, along with all the durability concerns that come with folding phones right now.

Mills, 10 Nov 2023Skill issue. I wouldn't sell/refund it though. This... morethey won't put an 8 gen 1 in a 500$ regular phone, you think that they'd do it in a flip one? you're out of your damn mind for even thinking that this is a possible thing, most likely a 4gen 2 or its equivalent in exynos.

This may happen, but looking at Samsung's track record of releasing crap spec even normal bar phones it's likely it will use the Exynos 1380, UFS 2.2 and no secondary display.

I've been wondering how foldables will reach the 80 to 100 million mark by '27 experts have projected because I couldn't see it with foldables in its current state. Obviously, this still hinges on an ifold coming into the picture and raising the profile of foldables, but midrangers will play a major part. So, now it's beginning to make sense.
I wonder if they will also use midrange hardware for the body. Samsung can still use plastic foldable panels instead of glastic. LG's Real Folding Window could also play a part in midranger foldables as well.

More expensive ones have crease in middle, the screen protector peels of relatively easy and the screen dies the same moment and the durability of main screen is equal to chalc or soapstone and thats a 2000 eur device.
Wonder who will buy this thing for 500 if the durability will went from really bad to worse than horrible awfull nightmare.

Mills, 10 Nov 2023Exynos 2100? On a foldable? it's gonna need a copper h... moreLmao. Probably a newer processor or something low end. Processor speed won't be the main selling point anyway so they won't care, probably give it IPX4 and call it a day.
