US smartphone shipments grow sequentially in Q3 fueled by Apple's iPhone 15 series

10 November 2023
The sequential growth is nice, but year-on-year the results aren't as jolly.

Anders, 10 Nov 2023The richest economy in the world, with the absolute worst s... moreOne of the best. Nothing stopping you from importing one ... 90% of Chinese phones are garbage. There are some good ones but you think Google is bad at spyware, bloatware and phoning home just wait ... Lol. Not to mention 70% of all Android phones are 2 years behind on OS updates. When you sell a phone for $200 and make literally $15 or $20 profit you ain't gonna support shit .... They could care less about you after the sale. At least with google Samsung and apple you get support and updates. Ya they might phone home but at least it's not the Chinese Communist party.

That percent is just fine. Samsung will start to lose a ton of ground. Now that there will be choices in the U.S. but it's not gonna be great. Google sells phones and tablets just to hijack all your data in one place. Lol.

Tubalover69, 10 Nov 2023Even t-mobile wont necessarily provide support for more pho... moreT-Mobile is the same as other carriers period for that. iPhone will work on any carrier in the US and abroad 90% of the time even a branded one or unlocked one. There is no "carrier" version of iPhone. They are not allowed to mess with updates or carrier services and not allowed their bloatware apps or splash screen garbage on iPhone no matter what carrier it is. I won't buy. Anything but from apple unlocked. But even if you get a iPhone from T-Mobile att or whoever they still can't put there garbage on it or splash screen nonsense.

Google has made a lot of advertisements on the internet, big billboards almost everywhere on the streets of America but people don't seem to care.

i don't understand these companies never ending greed for growth, How many phones do they think people will buy? The market is already very saturated at most price segments and one phone can easily last 3-6 years for an average person.
They will see these low sales then charge existing customers more or make all the features in a yearly subscription to milk their existing customers.

Wow, Googe is shameful in its own territory, I have North American friends who know that Google has a telephone and I'm talking about young people.

It's ridiculous how hard it is to try to get any oppo or xiaomi phone working at all in this country, and its even harder to get them working well. They only whitelist phones that are "certified" on their networks. It's only T-Mobile that doesn't have this practice. Also, most global versions of phones simply lack many of the bands we need here, so it's not worth importing.

The 4% in the folding space for Google is not good. Maybe if you advertised more and shrunk the price to 1500, people may buy more of it.
