That is not a mind-blowing solution to a problem (that isn't a problem in reality, who cares about green and blue bubbles except idiots who crave so much to belong to a group of brainless people for which image and status is everything). This "solution" already exist since the dark ages in other domains. I do agree however that any messaging service should be compatible an any direction and for any features it offers. Such practices to create exclusivity is not productive and limits the inventivity in favour of pure greed for profit. But the latter can be said for much more things besides the ridiculous battle between iMessage and RCS.

I use Beeper because it's at least open source and decrypts for a split second when going through the Matrix bridges it's based on (they actually published some proof on their website).
Sunbird gives me that whole "just trust me bro" vibe and I'm not for that.
