no problem, chinese will make them soon and you will be forgotten from foldable markets, thats what nokia did back then with windows mobile while rest of manufactueres produced android phones

naap51d, 16 Nov 2023Why would they THINK about making a cheaper folding phone, ... moreSama reason they do it woth the FE models and the A and M models.

Markets have either brand name recognition.

Make extravagant profits with the Z and S series while appeasing to the large masses with the A & M and FE series!

Those swll more and if you're smart and share most of the components or the same or similar molds those units sell a heck of a lot more and thus their profits grow tremendously!

Honda did it with the Civic - notice the Prelude, S2000, and Accords are not around l?!

Toyota did it and for almost 2 decades the Supra wasn't built! Technically they used BMWs engine and chassis platform ro help their prototype design to make it to production. For over 3 decades Toyota made THE most profits. Its a great business strategy BUT you need to keep innovating Toyota stopped so its hurting their sales now.

Mills, 15 Nov 2023400 dollar foldable? The SoC on that thing will probably be... moreEven Motorola's RAZR 40 with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is $699 RRP. $400 is just way too optimistic.

Why would they THINK about making a cheaper folding phone, when people are still putting up with their overpriced ones now?

Remember when Samsung mocked Apple for removing features then a bit later doing it themselves?

I think they will release a cheaper one although it may or may not be released in 2024...

Their decision is playing after Apple's offering. For now, the market has limited competitors which are not serious rivals to Samsung's offers. Up until then, Samsung will stay focused.

I am fire seeing fate of Samsung similar to HTC & NOKIA or blackberry in near future; b/c if their rising cost with out any new innovation; & b/c china has better plan for TAIWAN 😆

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2023Don't worry. The Chinese will do it. True, Motorola kind of already did it albeit nog 400-500 dollars however you can get the Razr for 399 or 499 already I believe, so that is pretty much affordable.

400$ for a midrange foldable is already unrealistic in the 1st place, it would cost at least 800$.

Moto already has a $700 foldable. Just a matter of time they come up with a sub $500 foldable

Probably because they know how many faulty devices there are and it's not worth it selling foldable for such a low price.

It really does nto matter their 2000 eur devices dies on a first scratch or peel of, of their screen protector. If a 2000 eur device have zero durability in other words equal to chalc or soap stone then a 400 or 500 eur foldable would be the worst phone on the planet.

"Samsung has set the price target for the mid-range foldable at $400 to $500. This is a very aggressive goal"

The S23 FE is set to be released soon, and there are possibilities that Samsung plans to consistently introduce the FE brand annually. Simultaneously, there are rumors of ongoing testing for the launch of the Galaxy Z FE(lite model), after the Fold/Flip 6.

Takeaway, there was an article written on 07/11/23 on 11/ 11 he then "predicted" this after

Are Samsung making a public announcement enough is enough? I BET YOU WON'T FIND Samsung comments on his platform.

Are the Fan Editions to be no more?
The top tier A range "mimic" / "improve" on the FE. The placement of the S23 FE flash position downgrades it to the A range status.(not an accident)

The flash on FLAGSHIPS S21 FE, S20 FE are positioned SAME AS as S23, S22, S21, S20 Ultra, Plus, and base models

The S21 FE dropped microSD expansion and received lots of negative feedback

Samsung is NOT working on a $400 foldable, and don't rely on a 2 cent leaksters for information, should be the title

Of course the will not work on an affordable fold phone. All these gimmick phones are the current cash-cows where they ask big money for something that lacks big time in terms of battery and inner screen durability, at least versus the asked purchase price. Don't count on the renown brands to democratize these form factors. It will probably Chinese brands who will brake the price barrier.
