A serious question:
Is Apple the most anti-consumer company in the world?

Still having 60Hz on the vanilla model is absolutely laughable, especially when the vanilla iPhone 15 256GB cost the same as the Sony Xperia 5 Mk5 256GB (MYR 4,999 / ~$1,069) here in Malaysia, and I get a much better hardware with the Sony, not forgetting the still-relevant 3.5mm audio jack and microSD card slot.

And like you i'm not necessarily agreeing with Apple's decision, but do understand it. They are not breaking any rules not including a HRR display in certain products or being 'morally bankrupt' or any of that over the top sensationalist nonsense, they are simply making a business decision.
Whether that decision is to their benefit or not is something they will determine from the market performance of said product.

Your right it doesn't, fairly certain I've hit the nail on the head in this case mind.
I can both acknowledge and disagree with criticism. Or do I have to agree on this issue just for your benefit? I haven't told anyone not to comment, or silenced people or forbid anything, all of which I have been accused of. I have just disagreed, and voiced my own opinion. So yeah, i'm not the one exposing myself here.

DaFink, 22 Nov 2023I turn off pro motion on mine, not going to say I can'... moreMost tech people can't go back to 60hz after seeing 120hz. That's why they say it's a must. The thing is, unless you experience it, you don't really feel the need for it. I am not saying that what apple is doing is ok, only that I understand why they do it (plus they named it pro motion and they don't add pro features to non-pro phones so they dug that hole themselves)
As for price, they have definitely gone up lately, but you can still get decent 120/144hz monitors for ~200$ (at least where I live). Not sure about laptops and others tho.

"these iPhones have the specs they have and still sell in the volumes they do" and it's valid argument that they could be better for their price. That's essentially what some have commented, which you can't even acknowledge as fair criticism.

But it's so subtle to my eyes that I'd rather have the miniscule boost to battery life over the equally minuscule preceptive boost to scrolling smoothness.
To each their own though, and there are many who say that simply can't use any display at less than 120hz. I think they are making a rod for their own backs personally, HRR might be prolific on Androids at multiple prices points, but boy do you have to pay for it in other display based products like TV, laptops, monitors etc.
I'm just grateful I'm not so hung up on this single feature, as it affords me a grater degree of flexibility in the range of devices I am happy to use and how I use them.

We are not going to see eye to eye on this and I am getting bored with your fake as moral grandstanding.
So how about I go my way and you carry on being the people’s champion of value in your own mind. Cause in the end nothing either of us say will change he fact that that these iPhones have the specs they have and still sell in the volumes they do. That there isn’t some massive spate of returns with customers citing lack of refresh rate as the reason, would seem to suggest those customers are happy with the product as whole and just get on with it.

DaFink, 22 Nov 2023It is a single spec point, that's exactly what it is. ... more"In your world though it's simply HRR = Good value, non HRR = bad value." That's never been the point smh. To spell it out to you, bad value is not the absence of a certain spec, it's omitting anything that even phones that cost a lot less have.
"See I don't really care for others getting there money's worth in specs." At least you're consistent being against consumers and protecting Apple as you've been replying to fair criticisms here in your attempt to invalidate them and make it seem like the company you support could never do any wrong.

See I don't really care for others getting there money's worth in specs, I'd just rather hope that they end up happy with their choices.
In your world though it's simply HRR = Good value, non HRR = bad value. And your seem to think that should apply to everyone's thinking. I give people more credit for being able to discern what constitutes good value for themselves, and regarding a product as complex and as a smartphone, do so based on far more than one single spec point.
