you have to suffer, 21 Nov 2023not everyone is wealthy enough to buy such expensive device... moreI think your perspective is quite different and true in some cases, especially in developing countries. I am sure in low-income countries people often buy iPhones just to show off their money but in high-income countries people don't care that you got the latest iPhone, and almost everyone around has an iPhone. Most of the people do not buy it to show off. Personally, I feel Apple ecosystem is very reliable, and they are good at marketing and convincing people to buy their new iPhones even with just a few year over year upgrades.

no matter with 5 children, 10, or so on, it depends on economy. they perhaps still use android phones from 2020 afaik. they rather think about cost of living than buying iphones just to show off, take a photo with large mirror in public, and watch tiktok just as cheap android phones are capable of. the sheer amount of desperation of buying iphones is for status symbol. where anyone can be considered elite and wealthy to other people. meanwhile they only live in wooden house. not about that proprietary, walled garden yet convoluted and complex called apple ecosystem.

LiIon is chemical, and measurement of capacity won't be accurate. It's just an approximation. So 100%, 98%. 95%, they all could be the same for all we know. Apple guarantees it won't go below 80% in 2 years. If it does, then go ask for warranty replacement. Done deal. No point in stupidly stressing out. Besides, seems like those people worrying about battery health are upgrading every 2 years anyway. People using their iPhones for more than 2 years, which is already past Apple's guarantee, don't seem to be worrying about battery health.
Or just buy Android that don't have that feature.
I mean geez, if I can afford $1000 phones easily, I won't be worrying about battery health that much. I would just get Applecare and use the iPhone however I like.

There is no way a lithium ion battery found in the modern smartphone can degrade to below 90 percent in a year
I bought a pre owned flagship android and the battery percentage was around 82 after almost 4 years of use
It's only the iPhone batteries that degrade that fast. Obviously apple is onto some sort of planned obsolescence there

Because not everyone buys a $150 chinese phone to use for a year then buy another. There are people that pay over a thousand for a phone and they would like to keep it for a few years at least without the battery getting degraded

Does it have a bigger battery? I think so. As long as Apple doesn't over a phone with a battery just as big, it literally does not matter though. Doesn't help that iPhones are just as big and heavy, so you don't even notice the difference in battery size in terms of feel.

There's a reason iPhones aren't as popular elsewhere. Others buy it for the ecosystem or just because they are too lazy to check if something else may fit them better. Out of the people I know only a few have an iPhone, most of those have an old one and even say themselves they just took the lazy option. Other country so ymmv, or just a different kind of friend group, who knows. Also the guy is right, a lot of kids are begging for an iPhone just like they beg for a PS5, simply because they want it as a status symbol. It's not like this is a secret either
