Dimensity 9300 is in the right place and time. Winter is coming! You need something to heat you up during winter!

Mediatek gets free pass because many wrongly think mediatek is chinese, when it is not.

I have no comment here, just pointing out more sources.

"The CPU throttling test is designed to run all the CPU cores at FULL BLAST to see how the phone copes with maximum stress."

This test seems Fundamentally Flawed. No phone is supposed to have their CPUs run at full power (highest ghz). That would be way beyond the requirements of any game or videography process. Also, the 9300 cores may be more than equipped to handle any workload at much lower than maximum power.

Interestingly this also highlights TSMC's disappointing fabrication? Nobody seems to be saying anything about that suddenly? Suddenly its solely an issue with using performance cores.

The attempt of MTK is nice because is like an alarm to ARM to phase out the In Order cores since they are now useless. And make the A6xx line which are underclocked out of order cores.

High nits is the main culprit with the 1440p resolution ... This is a battery killer and overheating generator !!!

Smartphones resolution should not be over 1080p ... anything above is useless !

i believe this particular design is at least a bit an overkill and, although is powerful, lacks on the practical side: it's barely usable.

a couple of years ago mtk presented their 10 core design , it was ahead of its time and rather very powerefficient, although it lost in competition with back then quickly rising sd. Maybe that kind of design could be put to a good use nowadays, considering better cores design at hand.

Smartphones spend more time in standby with background tasks than they do being used. Just makes sense to keep a few little cores that are super efficient and low power for this use.

Some threads will be focused towards the higher performance cores, especially things like video playback, anything using the camera, etc. Even a simple social media app like instagram can push a phone to overheat in certain circumstances. I have observed myself phones (iPhone, Android, doesn't matter) heating up just running CCTV app or even an e-commerce app running a live streaming video. It's up to the governor of the OS to juggle those threads efficiently. If Apple cannot even do it optimally on their own chip and OS, can't say much about Android.
