Anonymous, 30 Nov 2023and yet another day without RCS api being open (Textraa nd ... moreThis is true. Google hasn't opened the RCS API for third-party apps such as Truecaller and Textra. That is why most people cancel their Truecaller premium subscription. If you can not use RCS from third-party messaging apps, what is the point of paying the premium for apps such as Truecaller?

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2023and yet another day without RCS api being open (Textraa nd ... moreThis issue has been raised multiple times in this chat before. Some people claim that Google fans always shut down their arguments by saying that the platform is open. However, it is funny because the RCS API in Android is closed for third-party apps, such as Textra and Truecaller. This raises the question of why anyone would pay a premium for Trucaller when Google does not allow the use of RCS API for third-party apps.

Apple only support standard RCS protocol for the next iMessage version. So, blue green bubble is stayed the same. Google is being "clapping with one hand" now and to be honest, nobody cares about RCS 🙄🤦🏻♂️

Mine was giving issues because it got stuck in activation. I didn't find out until I didn't get some OTPs coming in, and found out the app is just trying to activate RCS endlessly. In another instances, another carrier blocked my service when I tried turning this on

RCS kept asking me every few hours to get enabled on my phone. I kept clicking NO, but it kept popping up every now and then, until 1 day i accidentally clicked YES.
now I supposed there are millions of other users out there who also clicked it by accident, or dont even aware they clicked yes, like my parents/grandparents and toddler nephews. Highly bloated figure/stats there saying millions wanted RCS.....

Google should support RCS chat for dual sim
Right now only one sim can be used for RCS chat which is not convenient

RCS got activated without me turning it on in my phone. This could've happened to several people who probably don't even know that RCS is on if things didn't look noticeably different.

Vikass17, 01 Dec 2023Why do we need so much BS to chat? Telegram and what's... moreAnd that's the case outside the US. Heck, majority of carriers around the world actually don't support RCS, or already dropped support for it many years ago. Weird huh, a company (Google) that has been failing making their own chat services then took it, add on their own proprietary stuff, and then start yelling and screaming as if there's a problem to be solved by RCS.

Google add on their own proprietary features and use their own servers. In some countries, some carriers even block your service if it detects this being on. It’s a mess.

This is due to Google turning it on by default after an update without your permission. Majority of users won’t realize that. It’s just a scam to pad up their numbers.

Ton of useless features.
Honestly, why not just use a simple SMS? They were meant to be a quick way to send a message to a phone number. This RCS just feels like Google trying to push their own "iMessage" app.
