Imo, google should dial back the rounding in UI a bit tho, it's near iOS level now, which just looks like an OS for some fisherprice toy. Rather, bring some glossy elements back. E.g. microsofts former fluent design for hololens was perfect.

That way, phone cases are unnecessary and it gives enough space for everything.

I'm personally not as impressed by the Oppo Find X6 Pro, seeing that it's ultrawide is much smaller than the X5 Pro's, and that the telephoto has very limited range and a low resolution, but the IMX989 does work wonders for the main camera. As for the Xiaomi 14 Pro and whatever the Ultra presumably does, I do wish Google did variable aperture too. It's not enough to make me switch to Xiaomi (their software sucks and I hate their passive-aggressive stance against unlocking the bootloader), but it certainly is innovative.

Much larger cam system with periscope that needs significant space.
S-Pen takes huge space.
S24 has 4000mAh without this. You want note with this size, with this stuff and also 4400mAh. There is no space.
9mm is not going to help here.
Brands give better stuff to larger phones because it is also easier to fit.

The reasons and factors for why you might like them might differ to my reasons and factors for why I like Google. I love Google for the camera and the clean, smooth UI, and I've grown to love the curved back (as in this wasn't originally a factor I even considered when buying my Google Pixel 7 Pro). I don't know about you, but for you, maybe gaming performance is a bigger deal than for me, seeing as the only things I play on my phone are Subway Surfers and Minecraft, both of which run smoothly and are relatively lightweight compared to other games. I also heavily dislike OneUI, having experienced its many problems on my previous phone, which was a Samsung, and these factors were a bigger reason for me to buy the Google Pixel than the drawbacks that came along with the phone, like the okay at best battery life, the mobile data reception issues (pretty minor in my experience, but Google QC is bad enough that it's terrible for some people) or the overheating issues.

But I used the amazingly designed Sony XZ1 for many years and had no issues in terms of ergonomy. I didn't talk about the camera, but I'd probably combine an Oppo X6 Pro with gcam to have the best HW/SW combination over all lenses. Or the new Xiaomi 14 Pro's with variable aperture. At the end of the day, they're still far away from real unaltered fullframe picture quality.

I myself am a Google lover, but a situation where one must deal with real facts, I don't choose favorites. I won't say much, after all the phone itself hasn't been released yet. The curves of s22 ultra were just fine, they posed no problem when using the phone and there was also no problem with using the s pen on the screen.
you say it like the screen would be curved from the edge to the middle.

Have been expecting this phone's release for quite so long. The specs displayed here are really promising. Design, spectacular! What else could one possibly look out for in a phone. A FLAGSHIP indeed.

Seriously, while Samsung can't even bring Quad Bayer sensors to every rear camera, and use a Hexadeca-Bayer sensor for the main camera to "compensate", Google now takes sharp pictures across the board. If you like sharp corners, that's fine, but don't pretend that your Samsung phone is perfect, or anywhere near it. Also, don't complain to me later on if your hands hurt because of the phone's flat back, sharp unrounded corners and stupidly huge screen size.
