ua82, 02 Dec 2023I would like 7 inch heheIt's a shame that they reduced the size when the S21U was being made, and retained that size since. Even the iPhone 16PM is rumoured to be 6.85 inches.

I'm no expert, but last I checked, samsung flagships in NA ONLY use snapdragon processors (with the exception of the s6 and N5)

Believe it or not, audio is stored digitally on smartphones and needs to go through a DAC to get to an audio jack, regardless of if its internal or external. The only thing a dongle does differently is be annoying and make the digital and analog signals travel a little further.

Samsung 21 and onwards flagships are iPhone clones, with Android OS.
And you know that people prefer the original, not the clone.
By not respecting its history, the roots of android (android=freedom) and the real demand of its loyal customers (i bought more than 9 flagship devices all these years) Samsung will sooner or later have the fate of Nokia.

I wait for the s24 for some time now, but will get the good s23 or one of the sony phones (the rest are too big for my taste, and asus zenfone 10 doesn't offer a very good quality in phone calls/not best photos also).

They get away with it because they know the iPhone users will buy it anyways. Now every other manufacturer is dropping SD card support because they see it working for Apple. It makes the phone cheaper to manufacture and they can charge more for it since you have to buy the memory up front now if you want it. This is great for their bottom line. The manufacturer that continues SD card support on their flagships will likely get my money going forward.

Leanzazzy, 05 Dec 2023Sound, by definition, is an analog wave. The USB-C port on ... moreThat's not fully correct. Audio is stored digitally, and converted to analogue through a DAC. Whether or not the DAC is built in or not doesn't really matter, as long as it's good. USB-C to 3.5mm jack dongles have that DAC built in, and are just as good as built-in 3.5mm jacks, though less convenient.
The main detriment to sound quality is the kind of codec used, as well as compression from streaming. Basically, as long as you use a cable, sound quality stays the same.

Solun1, 05 Dec 2023Phone storage size didn't change since the S10 series ... moreSound, by definition, is an analog wave. The USB-C port on your phone is a digital port and can never truly recreate the exact same analog waves a proper audio jack can, regardless of how many or which dongles/adapters you use.

Besides that, there are plenty of other issues, such as the fact that additional adapters and cables add lag and reduce the quality of the signal, using the same port adds a huge amount of wear and tear because people plug in and remove headphones many times a day, compared to charging their phones only once or twice daily. Then you have the fact that you cannot use the port for charging while listening to something and certain features do not work along USB e.g. if you are screenrecording, you will hear the audio during the moment, but it will not be captured in the video etc.

oha, 04 Dec 2023I wish someone could xplain the foggin real reason behind t... morePhone storage size didn't change since the S10 series (actually it dropped) while photo and video size increased 10 to 20 times. A lot of people nowadays shoot a lot of videos and then storage fills up almost instantly if they do use the high resolution option. So I fully understand the need for expandable storage. What I don't understand is the need for a 3.5mm jack. Even if all these people commenting about it had high-end headphones with a 3.5mm connector, they can buy a cheap accessory that will make this problem disappear. I also bought one (directly from Samsung for €8 with lossless quality) but never used it because I use USB-C earphones and TWS earphones. So yeah, someone who actually knows what they're talking about, can you explain?

Samaparr, 04 Dec 2023It's 45w but okTheir "45 Watts" is a joke. It barely hits 45 Watts for a short time and is mostly 25 Watts. Go watch videos or reviews about the difference between Samsung's 25 Watts and 45 Watts charging. There's a very small difference.

Yes, though Samsung and Google's machine learning zoom (at least in good light conditions) seems to start mainly at zoom levels higher than 15x, whereas the iPhone 15 Pro Max already produces extremely artificial machine learning results at 15x.
In some cases it can make sense to use a little bit of digital zoom (if there is no machine learning) because certain phones are able to combine more frames, when you zoom a bit. So the signal to noise ratio can be slightly better. Some phones also may apply less noise reduction when you zoom slightly more (though it can be also the opposite).
