No Notch Life, 04 Dec 2023It can't be fully accurate. Why would the S24+ drop UWB?Agreed. They're also supposed to drop wireless charging from the S24 and S24+? I don't believe it.

        S24
        Display 6.2" FullHD+ 120Hz screen

does it mean that s24 will be 6.2 inches ? oh nooo. whereas I was so excited about s24..
        :' (

Judging by the rumored specs, better call them with S24FE S24 and S24U.

Base model is disappointing, RAM Screen and battery.
Also the UW cam needs to be upgraded in all 3 device (larger sensor & pixel size, larger MP, PDAF in base and plus models too), it’s already 4 generations since S20

            1. The 7 Pro offers more pixels per angle than the S23 Ultra. Apart from the field of view, "10x" is a marketing specification (even the image circle is not known). Physical specifications are pixels per angle, effective lens diameter, focal length, image circle.
            2. The S23 Ultra and Pixel 7 Pro suffer from about the same amount of diffraction because the effective lens diameter of the periscope camera is nearly identical
            3. The only real 360mm spec advantage of the S23 Ultra is the performance in good light conditions due to the larger sensor area at 360mm, but a better signal to noise ratio can be also achieved by multi frame noise reduction (Night Sight).
            4. The Pixel 7 Pro uses a Quad Bayer color filter array, but due to diffraction, the difference between Quad Bayer and Bayer might be neglectable in this case
            5. At "30x", the images of the S23 Ultra appear "sharper", but this is not due to the lens, but due to machine learning. I took a photo of a sign with the word "Repair" and the S23 Ultra clearly showed "Aepair". This was reproducible and didn't happen at 10x or 15x, so people should be aware that the 30x results of the S23 Ultra have nothing to do with the lens and are just machine learning.

I'm watching at Fujifilm X-T5, but it's a little expensive (especially with super tele lens)

I just KNOW Samsung's "Super Fast Charging 2.0" will just be 25 Watts and they'll act like it's 120 Watts.

I feel like this is a mistake on the ultra, they should have added a 5x but kept the 10x. I wouldn't buy this.

dcdev, 03 Dec 2023Using x10 at night? So strange. What about day time? No, I wasn't talking about using it at night. I used Google's short Night Sight mode in a store as I said. Night Sight combines more frames than the default mode and this is very important because the Pixel 7 Pro only uses a sensor area of 6mm² at 240mm (S23 Ultra has roughly 11.5mm² at 240mm). This means that even at base Iso (or good light conditions), combining more frames can deliver more detail due to a better signal to noise ratio (or less software noise reduction).

The Pixel 8 Pro performed nearly identically to my 7 Pro at 360mm, though the dng files of the 8 Pro showed strange artifacts/strange pattern of noise in comparison to my 7 Pro.

I tested that multiple times in a store. The reason might be that the Pixel 7 Pro's periscope camera delivers 25% more pixels per object than the S23 Ultra.
