Wondering when these brands will realize that huge camera bumps at the back on overweight phones (anything above 200g) are features which not all users want (especially when a good camera is not needed).
The exact same design can be found on so many other phones such as the Xiaomi 13 ultra and OPPO Find X6 (which is the same company as Realme).
Where is a phone with a low key design that weighs between 160-180 grams, can last for 2 days, has an efficient and snappy system and has a unobtrusive camera design with 2 lenses max at the back? The only phones that come close to it is probably the S23 and the Zenfone 10.

Anonymous, 07 Dec 2023There is video on youtube ( mi 14 pro vs samsung vs apple).... more"did not bother to publish when mi11 series had same issue of LG G3, dead motherboard due to excessive heat"
Probably because the source of the information was incredibly dodgy - No photo, no real proof that the problem ever existed, and no active link to any discussion thread about it whatsoever. The "report" simply wasn't trustworthy enough for major websites to cover it, but of course you believe it because that's what you clearly wish was true.
"Rog has special cooling"
Ah yes, moving a goalpost now, I see.
"fooling users by dropping video recording quality ( that is not good already) in secret"
Managing heat is considered to be "Fooling" now? Is Sony "fooling" users too by using a powerful chipset that can't sustain its high-performance state while gaming because of a lack of proper cooling...? Your choice of words suggests you're trying to take a side rather than acting fair.
Most importantly, those video bitrate reductions (assuming I take what you're saying at face value) are most likely for taking away heat from the sensor and have nothing to do with the CPU/GPU throttling that I'm talking about.
"Is this correct?"
How the hell do I know? You're the one who is giving out that information, not me lol.

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2023From the review: We played a game for half an hour, too... moreRunning benchmarks repeatedly will simulate the situation where the phone needs to keep operating under high load and provide a more consistent, standardised test result than simply running an arbitrary game (Remember, simply stating "we ran 'games'" isn't really a good way if you want to compare performance across different devices) for an arbitrary period of time.

We played a game for half an hour, too, and the Xperia 1 V was not hot and did not throttle, not obviously, at least.
You claim heat issues based on benchmark solely and no other situation.
But give free pass to other that decrease SoC activities to avoid heat during daily tasks.

Maybe you never see here, they did not bother to publish when mi11 series had same issue of LG G3, dead motherboard due to excessive heat.
Rog has special cooling. Should never go that low.
Besides benchmarks, zero issues. Even mark 2 can run COD at 120fps, while the 2022 redmagic generation does it 90fps. And I bet the new one cant as well.
Waiting for my answer.
You prefer throttle during benchmarks or fooling users by dropping video recording quality ( that is not good already) in secret like mi13 ultra and op11?
This while using low bitrate, by the way.
Many chinese phones do as default same s22 does. Push all they can during benchmarks no matter heat to get better score. Then throttle while doing other tasks. Is this correct?

Anonymous, 07 Dec 2023Since you love to base on be chmarks, instead of daily use.... more1) Xiaomi 14 Pro hasn't been tested by GSMArena yet but I would criticise it if it shuts down the app while running the benchmark. At least that wasn't the case for the 13 Ultra (which has a very good cooling system which the Pro series historically lacked)
2) Rog Phone 6 still maintained 60% of its CPU performance and had a separate mode that prioritises fast performance over running cool (X mode). The 8g1 series was more prone to overheat than the succeeding 8g2 or 8g3, which is made very much obvious by the fact that the newer Rog Phone 7 sustains a higher level of performance in the same test.
3) I've criticised Flip 4 for having terrible throttling too, and Xperia 5 V actually performed *even* worse than that.
4) Yeah, another 8g1-powered phone from a brand that never had an amazing reputation regarding gaming performance and is still getting actively sanctioned by the US, hamstrung in both hardware and software outside of China.
Whataboutism, whataboutism... No amount of your "But phones A and B perform only slightly better" arguments would have me recommend Xperia to anyone who enjoys playing games on a phone. In fact the throttling is only one of the problems, I usually tell people to stay away from Xperia flagships for other reasons too, unless they are the only phones that meet their specific requirements.
