Companies works for major population in other words US and Europe causal person is 180cm high with weight around 80 kilos you are just minority.
So average big person needs above average big phone.

Years and brands proven phone can works pretty well even if they are very old.
My old Lenovo Vibeshot from 2015 still works pretty well. Same goes for X3 lenovo which my GF had although she now uses Iphone and have that Lenovo as a secondary phone.
Know several people with somethng old as S4 m ini or even older phone still works for what it have to.
Updates arent neccesary even they are imortant but they arent everything.

Wish they'd just give us a MoBo, 3 or 4 display sizes the shell, 5 camera configurations and a way to upgrade the MoBo every few years or so.

I'm not saying the cameras should be crappy by any means but asking for Galaxy S-Ultra quality is not really needed. Stick in a good ol' Sony IMX 7xx sensor and good to go

Not even asus uses mediatek dimensity 9300 chipset it's already powerful to be use as a gaming chipset also it supports 180hz unlike 8 gen 3 even 8 gen 3 has a better stability than 9300 it's because of their Os/Ui they don't optimized it they think that the chipset can only optimized its self unlike xiaomi and it's other sub rand same with realme, vivo, Oppo, iqoo and oneplus only them who optimizes mediatek

That's a proper gaming phone with meh update support (3 years security updates isn't exactly enough tbh) and ok software.
