They can move it even to Mongolia, iPhones quality will remain unchanged. There are procedures, guidelines, principles to follow. All the managers and people in charge are from USA, so doesn't matter in which country will be the production, iPhones will remain the same.
Plus, is not like there aren't any qualified people in China or India, to work in technology. If anything they can be even smarter than Americans or European people.
There will be interviews, selection process, is not like they will hire chefs and waiters to work at Apple for manufacturing iPhones, lol.

This happened to Japan too back in the 80s when Japanese companies started to make inroads into USA and slowly taking market shares. You may ask "Why USA still friendly with Japan then?" The same reason why USA still trade with China despite all the rhetorics: Japan was the biggest market for US goods at the time.

Apple predominantly relies on Chinese suppliers for over two-thirds of its materials, with trade disputes and international relations playing a significant role in this strategic choice.

Despite establishing a supply chain for "budget" iPhones in India, it's crucial to note that premium models like the Pro and Pro Max continue to be manufactured predominantly in China, subjecting Tata, its factories, and workers to rigorous micromanagement similar to Foxconn.

However I do wish India success in securing more of Apple's attention.
