Indian people are hardworking but unfortunately let down by their government. Cronyism and lack of action against corruption are the 2 main problems plaguing the country.
Given India's aspiration to be a superpower, who knows what in store for the future in case Indian government decide they no longer want to be under the ceiling glass of USA. Remember that Uncle Sam only friendly when you stay under his thumb.

Foxconn already pulled out of a 19.5 billion dollar deal in India a few months ago, false promises & tax incentives, horrible work ethic and lower production quality are all reasons why they pulled out. There are much better countries to build in, but India underbid everyone else while massively underdelivering. I doubt this will be viable, India is a graveyard for foreign investment full of corruption (the factory is in Modi's hometown for example which has no infrastructure). This will fail hard and at best you'll have poorly made iPhone for India only.

That Indian production is a nightmare for Foxconn as stated by them, see Asionometry channel for details. The quality and workmanship are all way down and Foxconn has had to resort to importing thousands of Chinese engineers to make up for the difference... should have chosen Vietnam, Thailand, or Malaysia as they produce higher quality components and have a much stronger work ethic than India. India was chosen for their tax incentives and investments promised but have not yet been delivered, they will have to learn the hard way about doing business there.

Apple, ww have a dought.
Now you change the production to India, because of tension between US and CHINA. Sometimes after 15 years later if tension becomes between US and INDIA then where you shift the production ?.
Now Intel going to make their own production in our Great America, so Intel no need to worry about tension.
