Expect a drop in build quality. There is already a difference in build between same iPhones made in India and other countries. iPhones made in India seems to have a lower build quality.

There are people who say iphones made in india wont be good quality. India also makes cars and they are one of the safest cars in india. iphones can be well made too.

Amazing news for India. Thank you Apple. In future iPhone battery will also be made in India. Tata is also making another iPhone manufacturing plant. Indian manufacturing ecosystem is growing rapidly each year. Kudos to Indian Government.

In the next few years.
Seems like Apple is having a LOT of issues working with Modi's government to appease his need to bring the country fully out of thr textile age and into the technological super poee it can be.
This time around Apple should be very wary of their political culture, their allies and how their future can lean to.
Right now the USA and it's allies (UK etc) in in a massive fear of Taiwan being swallowed up by China. If that happens ALL major Chios outside of Intel becomes China's and could leave everything the western world relies upon - not just the consumer space but military IoT type SoCs etc in the caveman Era in less than 3yrs.
It's a very sensitive and dangerous game to play with chip fabrication demands of countries in this Era.

granted, every iphone sold in there include 7,5% import duty, 10/11% vat, the rest goes directly for reseller profit.
but yeah spending IDR 25mil. for a iphone are totally unreasonable, like what kind of job pays you IDR 25mil. a month?
even if my job pay me IDR 25.mil a month, i would rather save it until i can buy a home for myself, then a car, piling up saving in case of emergency, and probably this one if i can afford to throw my money away.
also afaik what drive indonesian to buy iphones are purely lifestyle, moreso if said individual not yet having their own home and good car and taking credit so they can afford iphone.*
even most financially-able person i know won't consider buying a iphone because it's a waste of a money.*

Indian made iphone is somehow cheaper in USA then in India. All just a geopolitical move, no benefit to the consumer.

it would be nice if the price was cheap because there is no tax, shipping, customs duty etc
like here in Indonesia the price of an iPhone here is double and there are no iPhone factories no Apple store.
