Oneplus 12 and Vivo X100 Pro would be duking it out for the fight for the camera phone and the Oneplus would win for being a better phone overall due to the chip and cooling. IQOO's a great phone but speakers are just ok and camera performance is great but not amazing.

Other than that they're absolutely mid flagships except for the display now. iPhones make sense sort of, high price = brand value and appeal, you feel rich, people comment about it and stuff. Samsung tho? they're mid in everything. A shame really, the average consumer is just stupid.
      I agree tho, 2000 USD for a normal phone is stupid, except for the Oppo Find N3 I don't see any other phone worth that much and even then that phone is cheaper, so I have to say bravo Oppo/Oneplus.

        and idk why but even though is Oppo is amazing in the camera department, the battery and the speakers aren't up to par. Vivo is a middle ground between those two. I'd like Funtouch OS and an SD 8 Gen 3 instead of the Mediatek one purely because of thermals and battery, I'm ok with the SD 8+ Gen 1 in terms of power.

But people are fascinated with S series/Pixel/iPhones. In my country, base iPhone 15 Pro Max is almost 2000USD and people were queuing up since early morning for pre-order. That's ridiculous stuff to be honest. iQOO 12/One Plus 12(hopefully Realme GT 5 Pro as well) offers similar specs at one third of price. Sometimes it's better as well. There is no reason we should pay 2000 bucks for phones. No matter what.

                  Denis, 09 Dec 2023Please, can anyone tell me in some words what is the differ... morei got x90 pro+ from china, besides some chinese menus here and there( nothing that you would access daily) it wont feel like a chinese OS at all. The only app I rarely use and is in chinese is the theme app but is pretty intuitive i managed to use it in chinese too.
                  Some say that chinese software has more spyware, might be true, might be not, at some level I think all have which cause some more than usual battery drain in idle but I can use my phone an entire day heavily and will last. Another downside is lack of android auto if you really care about it.
                  Other than that I can't find any cons, is much better than my wife's s23 ultra in most aspects except battery life (but charges much faster) but x100 pro has a much bigger battery than x90 pro+ so i would say that is fixed now.
                  If i were you i would wait for x100 pro+ in 1-2 months and order it from china, ill be skipping this gen and buy next year most likely.

                    Test from Sahil Karoul shows what you said...
                    Another one from Dylan Lee shows 80% stability on same test.
                    Another test on Geshin Impact by Geekerwan shows better stability and lower power consumption than 8 Gen 3.

                    Strangely, media only speak about the one from Sahil...

                      When I see pictures from Galaxy S23, I prefer by far Leica/Xiaomi...

                      Especially about X3 10MP sensor (lower level 1/3.94"...photosites are even smaller than the ones on entry level 8MP Ultrawide.
                      10MP are upscaled to 12MP.
                      Processing is horrible.
                      Some part are oversharpened.
                      Some other are blured.
                      Results seems ok on screen
                      On a 4k TV it's horrible.

                      Most time, 3x photos are better on a 13T Pro than on S23.
                      Get 50mm 50MP photo on 13T Pro (using the Pro mode, on Fake 12MP 75mm with S23, 50mm are often far far more detailed than the 75mm.

                      DXOMark says the opposite...
                      Seems someone paid for DXO's services, and the other didn't

                          From my experience with the brands...Xiaomi camera SW is absolutely unreliable. It will mess up HDR or white balance randomly. Oneplus really stepped up the game with the 11, so 12 should be pretty good looking at the hw. Vivo has pretty great camera IQ. I would probably go with Oneplus due to Vivo's OS not being that good.

                                    It's amusing to see that some people are actually inclined to believe crap like that when there are already people like Geekerwan who have already got their hands on the actual phone and published in-depth reviews of it. How about you wake up first before telling others to do so?
