Asus gaming phone should focus on
-performance: top chipset and software
-battery: at least 12 hours screen on time
-display: no less than 1000nits
-speaker: give back Rog 2 speaker level

A little bit concerned about now they use full screen display, no more room for front facing stereo speaker might lowered the audio quality compare to previous lineup.

ROG 8 is very bad gaming phone, because of:
• Punch hole cutout
• Semi stereo speaker layout (stereo not balanced, side-mounted)
• Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
With Punch hole cutout, some games will ruin the view that hides the corner of the punch hole makes it not immersive.
Stereo front speakers are dead now, with side mounted will prone to cover the sound while holding the sides where the speaker plays in.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is the best chip from Qualcomm, but it is better to put MediaTek's Dimensity 9300. Its much better and cheaper than SD8Gen 3 even without a phone cooler between vivo X100 and iQOO 12 Pro.

I've never had a commercially available product go bunk on me, I can agree that alot of their wifi/routers look ridiculous but the functionality is still there, stability, proper components, yeah, well, about that change, I guess the future will tell, but change is usually for the better, not the worst. Look, they are finally gonna change the look on the very clone-ish Samsung, sort of like Apple revamped their phones a bit. Considering how much value the zenphones give, maybe not in camera usage but still enough for a daily shooter, i mean, it aint no xiaimi 13 ultra, but it'll do. Maybe ASUS is onto something here, hopefully it wont cost too much. Phones are too expensive in Europe. States has it easy for in house stuff, heck, a couple of 50k$ speakers cost like 25k in the states, had to pay 50k here, just for the taxes. That stings. ^:) anyway, gonna be interesting to see if you be right or if you be wrong, mate. Future will tell. Oh, and the samsung change seems to be in 2026 so... a while to go ;/ Maybe this ASUS thing is a while to go too? Who knows. :)

Glad I switched to RedMagic 8sPro. This is a weird iteration for all the great ROG phone designs. Punched hole selfie cams not just ruin the fullscreen gaming experience, some games won't even allow the use of the small portion of where the punched hole cam is. In my UDC powered RM8sPro, I can fully utilize the screen in any kind of games in a beautiful bezeless display.
I think they're making this switch to unified the Zenfones into one phone. It's BIG mistake Asus, bad move.
