If you are making a gaming phone and you start focusing on the camera instead, you just jump the shark. You lost focus on what your product is supposed to be. Seems like they are indeed dropping their Zenfone line and probably will simply make an ROG-branded generalist flagship, thinking that's a good idea. These Taiwanese brands just don't seem to have a vision on what their products should be.

They're finally giving into the punch hole design, lol. My eyes sparkled for a second and thought they went for an UDC, but nope.

I don't think they realize how much the gaming phone crowd cares about a punchhole on their screen. I was planning on getting it but now I won't because of it. I still won't accept any kind of notch or pinhole on my screen and now with Asus dropping out of the no hole club I guess that leaves just redmagic and sony and unfortunately I don't want a phone with a fan in it personally so that just leaves me to see what Sony does now. Still can't believe we live in a world where people accepted a hole in their screen as normal...

                Punchhole... Just why asus..
Now it's just another generic android phone. I was hoping they would copy red magic under display front cam. Now it's just another Samsung Android copycat. Seems like I would stay on rog 6 or buy rog 7

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2023It's clear enough unless one has vision problemsIt would be clear, on release date. If you cannot understand this, make yourself useful and go home. Look elsewhere for people with eye problems.

msi, 13 Dec 2023still android ??? they better use steam OSdo you expect steam os to be running on an ARM processor?

it wouldn't be a gaming phone if they put cutouts. i guess rog 7 is much better. at this point, they should really call it zenfone 11 ultra than rog phone 8..

biostr, 13 Dec 2023ironic, the hardwares in Ally are more expensive than ROG'sWhy? RoG has smaller components and include phone/sms capabilities. It makes sense to cost more.

Anton el papi, 13 Dec 2023A few days ago I read that Sony is about to redesign its ph... moreSpeakers are not being removed. Sony has that tech from tv that screen is the speaker ( not piezoelectric like Sharp).

                                        Cam is inside the frame.
Sony semicon has tech called micro matrix.
It uses 4 cameras as small as notification LED, keep performance of regular selfie.

Mass production began in late 2021.
