satellite connectivity will become a common feature as the tech improves. it will be wise for samsung to have this feature or lose out to competitors.

      They do not mention in the article that there is no Satellite. Qualcomm did not launch the satellite, the scrapped the program. All just a marketing gimmick.

                  Wonder how abuse-proof is the satellite feature.
                  Could anyone share some experience from iphone world regarding this?

                    Yay, was waiting for an unsanctioned android maker to finally bring in the satellite connectivity feature.
                    If only they used the latest snapdragon and used a largerain camera sensor, it would've been a perfect phone.

No, I did not say emergency calls/texts where dumb, I said that using satellite for internet on a smartphone was dumb.
                                Also, voice calling wouldn't work well over satellite anyways for reasons I've already listed. Your call would be low quality and/or would drop very often. That's why its limited to emergency text messages that are short.

The satellite texting feature is only for emergencies when you don't have a cellular connection. If you would rather stay stuck in a remote location, desperate for help; no one is stopping you.
