Also, Nokia needs to die already, I mean Jesus Christ already. I'm not against companies paying royalties but what they're asking for is completely insane and ridiculous. Just cut your losses and let consumers enjoy more smartphones instead of chasing away potential investors. Here's hoping Oppo and vivo pull through and escape Nokia's filthy clutches.

The Nokia brand, which is against Oppo in the patent dispute case here, HASN'T made any smartphones since Microsoft bought Nokia's smartphone division in 2014. The current Nokia smartphones you see today are NOT made by this Nokia, but by HMD Global, a different company that pays licenses to Nokia to use its name for HMD-produced smartphones. Sure, the FORMER Nokia employees create HMD Global, but they are doing different stuffs with this Nokia in the article (this Nokia now focuses on B2B telecommunication technology, as they have said when they redesigned their logo)

                  It's like saying Rose (the singer) of Blackpink is the same as Rose Kennedy, JFK's mother, when it's not, despite both their nicknames being Rose. Or saying VAIO is still a division of Sony and produced by Sony when, in fact, Sony doesn't produce or own them anymore (it's Japan Industrial Partners who produce them now), even when Sony holds a 5% share of VAIO and its intellectual property.

                    This article is confusing. The title is written in such way that it looks like Chinese court is bias (obviously), but then the article says Oppo agreed to pay.
