If you want this phone in the us, then get the Thinkphone, its the same price and you get a processor that doesn't throttle as well as external display support, slightly faster refresh rate, quick charging, and quick updates

Guess I'll just wait another year for the S24FE, or maybe just get the S23+ when its price drops low enough.

The real loser are the Samsung fabs. Will they be on par with TSMC ever again... They shouldn't be able to produce such an inferior product.

What a waste of world resources. Make a phone with 2 different chips but tell us they're the same and cost the same but one has ugly battery life. Battery life that gets uglier over time. We don't need it.

Can someone in Europe sue Samsung for even trying this idea

No thanks, I'll wait for the S24 to come out, then grab the S23 discounted.

magnaroader, 20 Dec 2023I can confirm that the Exynos variants are not at all as &q... moreYou omitted the fact that the battery endurance is already quite poor for the Snapdragon S23 FE. The Exynos version being 10% poorer in battery efficiency will have big impact for users.

magnaroader, 20 Dec 2023I can confirm that the Exynos variants are not at all as &q... moreIt's more than 13% of battery difference according to tests... Exynos is no contender to SD and should be installed on mid / budget class devices only.

Photo processing is much superior in the Snapdragon model and battery life is an average of 40 minutes longer, so over time the Snapdragon model's battery will suffer less wear due to the lower number of cycles.
Personally, I lean towards the Snapdragon model and consider it a scam that Samsung sells phones with two processors.
I had an S21U with Exynos that barely managed to do 3h30m SOT and it was impossible for me to buy a model with Snapdragon in Spain, I had to get rid of the phone and buy the S23U. If I had had the model with Snapdragon I would still have the S21U.

                        Winner: Buy something else
                        Loser: The customer

justasmile, 20 Dec 2023So after all, while the Exynos is more powerful than the 8 ... moreI can confirm that the Exynos variants are not at all as "crappy" as everyone claims them to be. Oh no! I lose 5% of the battery staying power of the Qualcomm version....big whoop.

It's easy to write this phone off if you live in the West.
However, in my region, Samsung phones barely get price cuts, and the S22 is still approx $850 whereas the S23 FE launched at approx $600, and the S23 FE is the 256gb 8gb variant vs the S22 being 128gb for $850 - this seems like a much better deal for us especially when you consider the software support and the fact that we dont even get Snapdragon variants in my region.

So after all, while the Exynos is more powerful than the 8 gen 1, it actually turned out to still have worse power efficiency...

Let's see what other hate comments have to say, and let's see if it's any better on the Exynos 2400, though it's most likely not.

As you say it’s more s22fe than s23. With the A55 due in a couple of months I’d chose that over this. The price in Europe of the s23FE is just too high for what is a somewhat compromised phone.

Tbh, I don't mind going for the Exynos since I'm only going to treat the phone as a DeX machine. However, I won't be paying its ridiculous $629/$689 RRP. It shouldn't be more than $549 for 256GB.

                                    We choose Snapdragon !💓💓
