S23 ultra got 50x zoom ... moreSamsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to have the same cameras as the S23 Ultra, except for the periscope telephoto camera.
S23 Ultra periscope telephoto=
10 MP, f/4.9, 230mm, 1/3.52", 1.12µm, Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS, 10x optical zoom.
S24 Ultra periscope telephoto (rumored)=
50 MP, (periscope telephoto), PDAF, OIS, 5x optical zoom
I suspect S24U 5x to 9.9x to be better than S23U, & then 10x+ better on the S23U...
But reliable tipster Ice Universe claims to have seen the Galaxy S24 Ultra's 10x camera samples and says they looked better than the S23 Ultra's.
We'll soon find out, I just hope any improvements are passed on to the older models as they have been in the past.

For me, I definitely want a h... moreAgreed, in the world of photography, whatever brand is doesn't matter, more important is to snap pic that fill with alot of inspiration, just like art. DSLR, Phone camera brand, its doesn't matter.
In phone camera I using Samsung S23u in zoom I notice too, there alot defects that "AI" mistaken in zoom that need alot of work instead just snap and go.
Like you said camera phone are getting better over a year, and still far away to shoot the moon and still can't replace actual DSLR.

For me, I definitely want a hardware to do the job (sensor and lens)
NOT AI or fancy processing in mobile phone.
Phone camera are getting good over a time, as a previous anon said, camera phone tech to shoot the moon still pretty far away.
When come to camera, I still prefer DSLR.
When come to zoom, when AI do the job, I still can see some defect or something kinda weird shape. from overall image look good, when do some checking in closer look definitely got alot work need to do.
If talk about brand, its doesn't matter what brand is, more important is to create "ART in Photography".
In other things, If talk about photography in mobile phone, also can create art. its people creativity. Also Its doesn't matter what phone brand or model is. Any brand or model can make art photography. Some use very old camera phone to make alike vintage shooting also.

That's a backwards denialist way of thinking on system cameras. Most people generally use som variation of a zoom lens. Fixed focus prime lenses is likely selling more in total, because, when you buy one, you generally have to buy at least one more, to cover the needs. You know, to never have to use digital zoom. To always be able to get the optimal brightness/focal length for whatever you're shooting.
I don't know anyone who'd use digital zoom on a system camera. I don't even know if my camera has that. Seriously. Cropping is used, for the obvious reason. Just like in any other photography.

They will cancel each other out. 5x photos will be good, surely, and the 10x will be likely better than the S23U 10x photos, but anything beyond that will be an oil painting.

1/2.5" behind 69mm ... moreYou're right, there are people with a low IQ, and you are a good example of that seeing that you need several posts to understand it. It could also be that I explained myself poorly considering that my native language is not English, everything is said.
It is one thing that improving the 3x means a larger module, and another thing that this larger module materializes externally in the device. The 4 rear cameras of the device have different module sizes and yet all 4 protrude the same. They are equal for an aesthetic reason, and seeing how big each one is internally, there is nothing to suggest that the person responsible for the current protuberance is precisely the 3x module. It is certain that even with a moderate increase in the size of the module of 3x due to an improvement, the outer protuberance will not need to grow outwards (although it will in diameter, as the others already do).
