Samsung Galaxy A72 receives its last major OS update to Android 14

It comes with the latest Google security patch from December 2023.

but still get another 1 to 2 years of security updates.

only no more OS upgrades.

                hope they release One UI 6/6.1 for F62 as well!!!

                  When A72 been released it costed even less than A54 when been released.
                  Sad A73 is last of A7X series.
                  Also no A8X series with rotating main camera.
                  Samsung really messing everything.
                  Wonder why to release A35 if A34 and A54 major difference were only in camera.

                          From 2021?Many android competitors from 2023,way more expensive still havent received Android 14.

                            justasmile, 06 Jan 2024Xiaomi 11t, Google Pixel 5a.Only two phones... Pixel 5a has smaller screen, and more of a competitor for the A52. Xiaomi 11T is more expensive at launch, and dont get me started on MiUI. Also, both phones are not as widely available in many markets. The A72 is in a very unique position as a large screen mid ranger most people around the world will have access to.

                              Embrace to the older Galaxy A72, this is one of the most stable phone since SD 720G is the very old chip that Samsung ever released, finally receiving Android 14 as a final version. Also the kernel will be the end of support soon.

Of course it's a little more expensive but you get more like a more powerful SoC, faster charging and 5G support.

I get it, the A73 *was* a compelling phone because of the 108MP main camera and the slimmer bezels (mind you, the A52s and the A73 are literally the same size but the former has thick bezels while the latter has very slim ones in comparison), but it still wasn't compelling enough when it literally had the same chip as last year's affordable midranger, kept basically the same screen but with thinner bezels (no brightness change or anything else), and had the same exact camera setup minus the slightly larger-sized 108MP sensor. It was still a waste in terms of value, and clearly not enough people bought it, which is why Samsung decided to axe the A7x line entirely.
