justasmile, 06 Jan 20241 more year and it'll be almost completely unsupported... moreName a phone from the competitors from 2021 at the same price range that gets Android 14 and latest security patches. Imo this phone had a good run. Besides, Android has multiple level of "patches" that will make older phones still useful past their official support date. There's the Google Play system updates that can actually drop new features to older phones, and many stock apps are updated separately from the app store/Galaxy store.

potato4k, 06 Jan 2024Can't deny the A52s is a great phone, but they're... moreFair enough, but it almost feels like either the A72 is what the A52s should've been, or it should've not existed. Although, tbf, the A52s was such good value for money that I'm glad that never happened. Also, could they not have at least used something better, like the 768G, the 765G or even the 750G?

OneUI 5.1 was very good, latest OneUI 6.0 is not so good.
So overall question comes to the overall stability & long-term usability of this version as it is filled with multiple bugs & annoying issues.
That's why i believe atleast OneUI 6.1 is necessary for all phones receiving OneUI 6.0.

The A72 was released in early 2021 along with the regular A52, being the A72 is just a larger version of the A52, and the SD778G was not even out yet. The A52s was released much later at the second half of 2021, after the SD778G was released. Samsung couldn't release a phone with a chip that has not been released, could they.

Having said that, the 720G is not a fast chip to begin with. But it is still sufficient today, and it is actually as smooth as any phone with Helio G99.

rizki1, 06 Jan 2024just want to say, this phone was launched at a price of €45... moreIn fact, the A52s is a far better phone than this, for a cheaper price than it, even if it lacks the telephoto and has bigger bezels. The Snapdragon 778G chipset is far better than this joke of a Snapdragon 720G that doesn't even have 5G. It also uses TSMC N6 rather than Samsung 8, and Samsung's 8nm node was an absolutely garbage node even just from an efficiency standpoint. Also, the A72 has a 90Hz refresh rate while the A52s has a 120Hz one, and since brightness is the same and the two panels behave very similarly other than that, the A52s still wins here.

just want to say, this phone was launched at a price of €450 without 5G, it's pretty expensive in 2021. Nowdays Samsung released the A55 at a price of €500, the price of the A50 series surpasses the A70.

The phone will become unusable too, Samsung has probably rigged it with few bugs, slowdowns and increased battery consumption to force users to into buying new phones thinking that their phone has probably just gotten old.

1 more year and it'll be almost completely unsupported (very occasional major security updates if possible). Sad.
