Well, I have, and it's a laggy mess, it looks and performs like a 4 year old phone.

No complaints for that price. Great deal.

                No. Does not matter price.
No SoC with A53, A55, A75, A76, A77 and A78 should be still used on new phones.

Azu10157, 11 Jan 2024But at least you get software supportGalaxy A54 5G has 4 years of OS upgrades + 5 years of security updates. But what good is that when it already performs like a 4-year old phone when navigating to its laggy and stuttery UI?? Even the most basic of tasks like clock and phone dialer can make that EXTREMELY POWERFUL Exynos 1380 sweat so hard to run consistently smooth and cool. For reference, my 2019 mid-range Redmi K30 5G never exhibited such a terrible behavior 3 years ago already.

So I wanna honestly know from you, is that long software support really all worth the brag when the performance of the device itself already makes you want to throw the device away immediately in less than 6 months?

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2024SoC with A76 in 2024? Xiaomi is too ridiculous. A76 core is perfectly fine for the price range (

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2024The non pro is far better equipped than the pro version wtfBoth are "Pro" models, it's just that the first one had 5G capabilities, but this one that is only 4G-capable has way better specs in other aspects, such as the display, build, camera, audio, and even software as well. The SoC is also arguably superior, because the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is only better in CPU, but worse in other respects to the Helio G99-Ultra.
If there's one thing that this tells us, it's all about showing how crazy expensive Qualcomm Snapdragon chips are compared to MediaTek's.
And this is still MediaTek's previous Helio SoCs, not yet the current-generation Dimensity lineup.

Azu10157, 11 Jan 2024But at least you get software supportLong software support on a phone that's not even worth using the day you unbox it, is completely pointless.

My theory is that since 5G modems in SoCs are pretty costly, they have to crap out on literally every other aspect. 4G has been out since 2011/12 so they're common and cheap to get/make.

"Just shows how pointless 5G is on these low-end phones." Yea, 5G on these phones are pure marketing gimmicks. You don't see OnePlus 12 5G or Galaxy A54 5G since they don't have to sacrifice anything (Samsung makes their own modems if I remember correctly)

4G2 did have a better CPU but G99 offers nearly twice the GPU performance. What an unbalanced chipset by Qualcomm. I'd rather have 4G1 at this point
