The X3 Pro launched ... moreYou clearly have no idea what you're talking about, since the versions you quote are completely wrong, It launched on android 11 and got updated to android 12. There was a beta release of android 13 that was never released to the larger public. The latest version that got spread OTA was 1,5 years after launch. The latest version you can actually get from the official MI website was released only 1 year after launch. No updates since, only betas that all got retracted and as such are not available from any official source any longer.

        All of that being said, no one really cares about Android upgrades anymore anyway, whatever is added is of so little consequence that it really doesn't matter if you're on Android 12 or Android 14. What DOES matter is security updates and running around with a phone which is at this point 1,5 years out of date for security updates IS a problem. Especially since a whole slew of the things those updates patched are under active abuse, as stated by Google itself on their Android security update page... As a result anyone with half a brain who has ever had this happen to them will NEVER trust any Xiaomi product ever again. Personally, I'd happily pay 50 more for a comparable phone from another brand knowing that I won't be put out to dry.

        The pricing is also so completely off, you can get a Pixel 7a for 400 and this X6 pro for 350, there isn't a single shop (not even any on their so called launch partner list) that is actually selling the phone at the prices they said early birds would get. Son easy choice for anyone who can read and compare, the pixel blows the X6 out of the water on pretty much everything but battery life and you're pretty much guaranteed to get good software support since it's direct from Google without all the MIU bloat no one in their right mind should want.

                        The issue I think is less about 'promised software support', but the slow creep of X-series in general. They're now charging a F-series price for an X-series phone. Sure it comes with slew of upgrades, but that might confuse buyers that want to upgrade from something like, say, Poco F3.

                        At least the X6 Pro show some promising power under the hood, we'll see if there's any issue (just like its predecessors) or not.

                              Is this longer software support like the one for the X3 Pro, where they promised AT LEAST 2 years of support and then ended it after 1.5 years? Hahaha, promises of a untrustworthy company are exactly that, untrustworthy. Never in my life will I buy another product by Xiaomi and I make darned sure no one in my circle of friends and family does either. Added benefit, no more worries about potential Chinese interference or potential economical sanctions against the brand as has happened with so many other Chinese brands before it.
