bee555, 18 Jan 2024im seriously asking .. why ppl dont like the curve screen ?... moreAccidental touches and the S-pen will write crooked if too close to the edge.

im seriously asking .. why ppl dont like the curve screen ? beside it's durabillity , aesthetically it looks good and comfortable to use (swipe and slide)

amats69, 17 Jan 2024so s23 ultra it is :)This is what I'm thinking, too. If the Exynos is actually good this year the S24+ looks a compelling option, but it probably won't be, so it'll have to settle for "phone I recommend to Americans" status (as they'd get the Snapdragon goodness).

Hopefully presales are bad and the subsequent discounts good, because an S23 Ultra plus a seven-year update cycle and a chipset refresh equals awesome in my book. But we've clearly reached the limit of this iterative design process and Samsung's entire marketing emphasis on "haha machine learning go brrr" shows it.

[deleted post]Real time call translator doesn't mean anything if you don't know anybody who can't communicate with you. Mobile phone screens are already quite mature, now we are in the realm of paying a lot of money for chasing specs (better specs are nice but let's just acknowledge what this is). Same boring minimal design in boring colors, not mention if was literally lifted from LG before they folded. Some of us like curved screens. Titanium is nice but they only did it because Apple did it, they don't organically care anymore on the hardware side. It saves you 1g but most people will be sticking a case on so it doesn't have a durability improvement in real use.

7 years of updates is great but I refuse to believe it until it happens. This would not be the first time when a Android manufacturer said one thing and did another.

Whats the big deal with circle to search? Google Lens has been around for a long time (and Bigsby Vision) and does the same thing

This is the major new feature??

              Still no 8k@60fps????

Good, but not worth to upgrade from the S23 Ultra or even the S22 ultra

Should you replace s23U 512gb to s24U 1TB if replace will cost you 440 USD? (or 310 usd for 512gb variant) I have that option with all bonuses etc. but I am not sure if it worth...

For people saying it will be 8/256 in Europe, just checked European amazon(Spain and Italy)and all are 12/256.

Wesker, 17 Jan 2024Day-one Ultra buyers, I'm genuinely curious ; What... moreNot having to spend $1300++ to replace my S22 Ultra 512Gb. 😉

the Galaxy S24 Ultra is actually a gram lighter than the S23 Ultra

Wow 1 gram lighter.. I guess this will allow for it to be much cheaper to ship across the world

We consumers will benefit for sure

Wesker, 17 Jan 2024Day-one Ultra buyers, I'm genuinely curious ; What... moreFlat screen, faster cpu wifi7
                              and all other premium features.

You have alot phones for 400€ that bring you all you need. But S24U is bleeding edge of this industry.

LoneOwl, 17 Jan 2024The only S24 phone that actually makes sense/worth buying ... moreApparently, it's 8/256 in Europe.

As for the price drop, see the S23 Ulra, there wasn't an enormous drop in 512 Model. 256, sure, sometimes ... But not as much as before.

                                  Hi

It's a shame to see that a company like Samsung is now just recycling its models in a bid to gain as much profit as possible. There is no meaningful upgrade since s22 ultra...Samsung is doing the same with Fold series by only recycling the old designs and labelling them as new models...
It's not worth paying such high price for recycled models, on other hand other brands (excluding apple)are leaping way ahead when it comes to innovation and improvements.
I am definitely opting for a huawei or Xiaomi fold series device if this year samsung again recycles its fold series.
Samsung lost its touch and innovation l...utterly disappointed...

Wesker, 17 Jan 2024Day-one Ultra buyers, I'm genuinely curious ; What... moreSpeaking as someone moving from A34 to S24 Ultra, the difference is huge for me. Much better screen, much better CPU, GPU, camera, S-pen is something I've wanted for a while now. Better charging, the new A.I. features are rather great, especially the picture editing features.

I also game a low and use emulators, so the S24 Ultra will handle it muuuuch better than A34. I will also get better connections with it, better sound among other things.

Overall, I think it will be very much worth it to upgrade, and as for why day one? More storage and some freebies is better than waiting to the price to increase and have to buy charger and cover separately. Thank you for your time =)

Darth Caesium, 17 Jan 2024I wish they'd switched the 3× telephoto to also be 50M... morewishing for Samsung to improve themselves anymore properly is like asking the devil to become good. Samsung's gone to the dark side after the S21 Ultra, nothing we can do anymore except for just seeing how they dig their graves further. Seriously what does this phone have now that the Vivo X100 Pro doesn't? Everyone talked about the S23 Ultra having "Impeccable zoom" due to its dedicated 10x, now what? This sensor is too small for a 5x sensor, heck Google has a bigger one in the Pixel 8 Pro. They should've used this for a 10x zoom. Oppo's the Zoom champ now just by the hardware alone, their processing is far superior as well. GG Samsung.

Once again, Samsung is using buzzwords like Armor Aluminum, Victus Armour glass etc. But we all know that come drop test and all 3 phones will give up within 2 minute lol. Like every Samsung flagship, these will too fail on very first drop
