Aleks, 18 Jan 2024You've said it man, all summed up nicely. I've ha... moreThe chinese phones all have over-processed images too, often they have blown out clouds for example (like my Samsung S8+ suffered heavily from).
In my opinion there is only Sony Xperia 1 V that has natural and true looking photos.
But who wants a 21:9 screen??! So I have a S23 Ultra with crappy Samsung main sensor. At least it captures crisp looking 2x photos. And good colours can be shot in Ultrawide and 3x camera.
Also in -15C cold weather, the pen was useful for keeping my gloves on and still switching between cameras and focusing/exposure. My fingers survived :)

YUKI93, 22 Jan 2024I'm not a boomer, yet I always shoot at 24fps or 30fps... moreSo it's storage savings reason. I make this 'shoot by content' choice bcs of hw limits(either UHD or FHD60) and it quite works, still I see the difference 30/60 as obvious. Videos gonna last for years so in terms of maxing quality, there's nothing to wait for.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2024Even Sony can produce great photos in Auto mode without any... moreSo much for "sOnY cAmeRa doEsn'T wOrk iN aUto Mode". A friend of mine owned the Xperia 5 Mk5, and I had the chance to try out the camera. I can easily vouch that it can produce excellent photos in auto mode without any manual setting. The loss of the telephoto camera in the Mk5 Xperia 5 is a real bummer, but my friend doesn't care about it since he owns an interchangeable lens Mirrorless camera in the first place.

ultrah, 18 Jan 2024Wait what? Only bomers still capturing at 30fpsI'm not a boomer, yet I always shoot at 24fps or 30fps. 60fps only works best for action videos with lots of movements, that's all.

veloce, 20 Jan 2024Ever heard about image stacking? Besides 5x will be better ... moreYes, I heard about image stacking but still, do image stacking with every sensor and the larger one will still come out on top.
They could have removed the 3 times lens and add the 5 times in addition to the 10 Times lens instead.
Phone has a native 22,5MP resolution at 3Times zoom on the main sensor with just 10% less in size.
And hey, the S20U also takes better 5 times photos than the S23U.
the periscope lf the S20U is really similar to the S24U by hardware.
Slightly less mm for a larger sensor on the S20U.

Anonymous, 19 Jan 2024No. I tested them. iPhone is not even close. It messes up p... moreYou must be blind.
Skin tones are very quality of light dependent and any camera can be "fooled" into messing up. I was talking about the poorly done processing on the samsung, reminiscent of old Sony DSRLs, where everything gets smudged and sharpened to compensate for excessive noise.

It seems my s22 ultra takes better picture now.
S24 AI hype and price is not justified copying apple titanium thing but still behind in camera shutter lag.
Shutter lag is from last 5 years.
Vivo x100 series 8s far better in shutter speed as well camera guys

Good ole picture sample shots looking like they do every year.
Its like someone shows you exact same picture side by side and then asks you which one is better. Yikes.

I'... moreI've noticed that also with others sources.
Also, for some that complaint about the sharpening, install Camera Assistant, it 'unlock' some option in the settings. Useful, for changing automatically sensor or for reduce ... sharpening 😊
I recommed it a lot 😋

Sammobile has some first side-by-side S24U vs S24U photo comparisons.
https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s24-ultra-vs-galaxy-s23-ultra-zoom-quality/
Switching from 10x to 5x native zoom for the third cam resulted in better zoom variants - previously, 3x zoom cam was taking the task of making pictures between 3x and 10x until 10x sensor took over, so now above 3x and until 10x results are better.
10x pictures tend to vary between the two, sometimes being better on S23, sometimes on S24. Author points out only limited amount of scenarios they tested so far.
I think it's more useful to have better results in 3x - 5x than only good 10x results - your opinion may vary.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 202424, 30, 60 and 120fps are for different purposes. Quality... moreHigher FPS looks considerably better, since it's smoother motion. Recorded television is 24 fps, and live broadcasts and some other things like soap operas are 30 fps, and you can already notice a difference between that.

S23u : 1/3.52" f21 at 230mm
S24u : 1/5.14" f22 at 230mm.
The " let's use center of bayer mode photo from small sensor" does not end well.
