Nomolos , 18 Jan 2024Yes 4k and 8k are a huge deal in the team world where there... moreMany laptops already have 4K screens. And few TVs have 8K screen. You pay more than 1000 dollars for a phone. Why not get it.

4k at 120 fps is indeed cool. Most phones under $400 can't even do 4k let alone at 60

JustGoogleIt, 18 Jan 2024Teading a Google Pixel 8Pro to this. I have never pre-order... moreBoth are powered by heavy AI so yea. 8 Gen 3 has way more muscle power for gaming or image rendering. I would go S24U with one of the limited edition colors. That way, you can charge way more on eBay when S24U goes obsolete in 7 years.

8k on a samsung phone is just not comparable to any good 1080p footage from an APS-C or even an MFT cam. Overprocessed, saturated, contrast-ey sometimes and the worst offenders are oversharpening and the noise smoothening algorithms. Really, they smooth out details and keep the noise lmao
The 4K 120 is cool af, I like that. But 8k is a gimmick and is just used for clicks. They should've implemented better HDR videos, both SDR and HDR use multiple exposures but I'd argue HDR better uses those, keeping shadows looking shadow-ey and having bright, detailed highlights. Apple's HDR imo is great, maybe some phones have it on by default. Saw some youtubers and even my family members using it in videos. Really good stuff. Nothing that great on android tho. Everyone uses SDR I know and 8K is easy to market yes but HDR just POPS man. We should really get HDR by default nowadays since half the phone owners now can play HDR.

Teading a Google Pixel 8Pro to this. I have never pre-ordered anything, it feels nice to not being able to get something right away because it is not out yet.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2024Now that samsung has, many here will be saying this is &quo... moreI mean, to be honest, someone more mainstream had to do it, though I didn't even know the Xiaomi 13 Ultra had it, considering that device also has a selfie camera that can only output 1080p@30fps. It's a good feature, even if I personally think 8K is way too niche and problematic on phones to be useful. At least 4K@120fps is genuinely useful, and I can't wait to see higher framerates at 4K as well. Also, 4K@60fps with HDR should be an industry norm as well for all flagships and for all of their sensors.

Yes 4k and 8k are a huge deal in the team world where there are absolutely no 4k or 8k screens. Not in the mobile landscape nor computers (save for some heavy gamers) and barely and TVs.
