DarlingYext, 22 Jan 2024If the Exynos 2400 is such a good chipset, why not use it i... moreMaybe they couldn't produce enough chips? They're using a new packaging method on a relatively(?) new node for them so yields may be low.

It use just 4.8W in Genshini impact, anyone who follow Genshini impact as benchmark for years know that's really good score, very few phones can maintain 60fps while using less than 5W.

This is not correct. Benchmarkings should be done for same phone but different chipsets.
Also still need to investigate the heat and battery drain after one week. But remember we already saw 2m+ antutu scores for snapdragon 8 gen3.

DarlingYext, 22 Jan 2024If the Exynos 2400 is such a good chipset, why not use it i... moreProbably because Snapdragon has a better brand image than Exynos, and the latter having a record for inefficient chipsets, compared to Qualcomm ones. Well both sides have had bad chipsets (the disaster 810 for example) but exynos just seems to have lot more issues, at least according to many youtubers, ownership reviews etc

I still don't like the idea of "android cameras are bad" in the media apps (tiktok, Instagram etc..) like we all know it's not the camera so why can't a big company such as Samsung cooperate with developers for a better usage? Samsung has been using snapdragon chips for a couple of years and if they couldn't do it snapdragon will exynos be the 1? is it a truly android issue? (apple manage to be the better one Afterall..)

Snapdragon's slight lead in GB6? No what I see is 10-core Exynos cannot beat 8-core Snapdragon...

Also, u omit that S24 Ultra have a 1h38m lead vs S24+ in pcmark Android battery test shown at the end of the video, which is inconsistent with slightly 100mAh larger battery...

Still no one talked about power efficiency, and no one actually measured the board power consumption using a fake battery. At this stage to call Exynos matches Snapdragon is like to praise Raptor Lake for Zen4-level performance without talking about power consumption...

DarlingYext, 22 Jan 2024If the Exynos 2400 is such a good chipset, why not use it i... moreBecause it's still worse doesn't matter if it's close, also looking at the pricing doesn't look like it's made the price any lower with exynos on s24+ or s24 the price likely would have been the same with them using sd8 gen 3 but using exynos they probably make more profit

You know, it's always the same thing
New chips come out and get tested with these benchmarks always showing similar results between the 2 but later in real life use you'll see Exynos almost always performing worse, with overheating and horrible battery life
Even further proof to this is the fact that Samsung doesn't sell Exynos in South Korea. Samsung officials don't want to use their own chip

For me, battery life matters far more than outright performance. So I'll pick the one with better efficienc

If the Exynos 2400 is such a good chipset, why not use it in the Ultra as well, why the split?

Bodygard, 22 Jan 2024I think Samsung put out a statement saying something like &... moreThe results are good

Geekbench is fine, AnTuTu score is lower than most 8 Gen 3 phone.

I think Samsung put out a statement saying something like "wait for new firmware, don't make your decision based on reviews with pre release fw". Those antutu scores, are fairly low for snap 8 gen3, other phones with same soc (not overclocked) are giving above 2million so, something is wrong here.
Gonna wait a week or 2 and then we'll see the true picture. I find it hard to believe if Exynos 2400 is as good as snap 8 gen3, why don't Samsung jump the gun and put Exynos on all variants (except in the US i know...) in Europe for example.

I'm more interested in the GPU performance

I'm actually shocked? I expected to match Gen 1 or something.

Thermal is better in Ultra but performance score got down. Any Exynos 2400 is on power with 8 gen 3, may be exynos thermal issue is solved in this year. Lets wait and see how upcoming mid-range SoC exynos 1480 in A55.

                                  Exynos ki jai.

Damn ! This is a pleasant surprise. Happy to see exynos catch-up to snapdragon and its even more stable in gpu. Thats good news. Very good news. That difference in geekbench converts to nothing in real world usage. Nobody can feel the difference. Just waiting for the battery tests now
