The drops themselves do not directly compromise the glass, rather what the drops cause is what compromises the display. Cracks, scratches, chips, and pressure (from bent and damaged frames) are what compromise the glass.

Just like glass on S23 Ultra. Which has tons of micro scratches from god knows what in my pocket that never has keys and I'm not construction worker. There is also one super deep scratch that just happened one day. All in 1 year of very careful use and zero drops. All these scratch resistant claims are BS.

I would pay this amount if it were polycarbonate back and screen.
No reason for it to be glass and brittle other than planned obsolescence and expensive repairs...
Its pure ever engineering to justify high price under cover of exclusivity.
Polycarbonate is as transparent it's flexible and when you put a screen protector it feels the same as any other glass with screen protector and is scratch proof.

The last time I believe Gorilla Glass made an improvement was Gorilla Glass 3. Everything after that made the same claims.

Shamrock Sean, 23 Jan 2024Pixel 8 Pro survived even better than this in drop test Really fed up of you Pixel commentors on Samsung posts ......pixel better camera......pixel this pixel that. We know we know OK! But some will always choose Samsung flagships no matter what because it's always a feature rich phone and people does buy phones for more than just camera and other features etc etc

They should make a video of S24U and 15 pro max hit each other with their own screens. Rip 15 pro max screen beat to dead by Honor x9b.

whenever a s series is out a droptest video appear. and saying it is very strong, but in the end for every s series most phone screen cracks when you drop it. and that will never change. because glass is a glass and fragile as it is,,, you know, glass!

Lister, 23 Jan 2024This. Unless they boast of durability, just forget your pho... moreThey do boast about durability, but indirectly, that's like misleading customers. Adding words like Armour frame, titanium body etc. They do this merely as marketing bs, when in reality they will not guarantee durability, because it doesn't actually exist, but sounds good in launch events

Shamrock Sean, 23 Jan 2024GSM Arena it clearly didn't survive without any scratc... moreIdk why the title says it survives the test, when clearly the screen cracked on the first drop. That's not improvement, despite what the new armour glass title suggests
Also, it's a Samsung flagship tradition to break on the very first drop. That's why I'd never consider Samsung flagship when buying a new phone

For any glass body phone, there is no such thing as "surviving a drop test". It'll all game over after a few drops. Even if it doesn't break, the glass structure is compromised drop after each drop. So yea, glass is glass and will be
