Having no Google on a device is not a problem to China since google left them a long time ago, it is the hardware that is very lacking on Huawei devices and the US has done a great job on salvaging their un-innovative crap by being crap and started throwing spy allegations without realizing they are also a spy.

You own an Apple device, you have a great status symbol, even having an older Apple model like the 11s and the 12s can be seen be ordinary people as a great status symbol. For me that is the reason or one of the reason why people buy iphones, specially in the country like China. The second one is as we all know is the Huawei ban, we all know that what the US said was bluff and with no evidence to support that, it will remain a bluff. If anyone still believes what the US said about Huawei in 2019 is true then maybe that person believes the Earth is Flat. Anyway if you can watch mrwhosetheboss video about why Apple is popular, his number 1 reason was because of the Huawei ban.

In 2017 a record amount of +1.536 billion phones were sold, The Chinese market took 33% of those sale.
As a nerd I regret the double and high single digit decline of Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi in their home market. It seems that a logo (Apple) or nationial champ (Huawei) is a stronger suit than technological innovation for the avarage customer.
