The phone is perfect for anyone who is in a tight budget and wants a phone with a battery that lasts more than a day and only needs it for very basic stuff (I've seen people who still use with no issues old phones like Galaxy J7 Prime or a Moto G6 for very basic stuff). The $100 makes it a pretty good deal.

We also didn't had that crazy race of who has the most cameras, faster charging speed, strongest chipset and so on.
Nowadays, we simply have an avalanche of new phones all days, every week and month. Not to mention the increasing of brands fighting to get that 1% of market share.
Oh, by the way: You mentioned A7 (2018), I have a refurbished A9 (2018) as a spare phone. Great phone, considered its age.

There were the A7 2018, A20s, M20 and the list goes on.
It's highly likely that it's unprofitable for the brands to include it nowadays

justasmile, 01 Feb 2024If it's such a luxury, why is it that even Honor is br... moreAs I said before, some Samsung entry/basic phones still has an ultrawide camera, but downgraded from 8MP to 5MP. I don't think that Honor X9a is - or look - as budget as a Samsung A05s or this Motorola here.
Anyway, some brands (Tecno, Infinix, Realme, Motorola) doesn't even care anymore and focus on the main cameras of its entry phones, reserving UW or tele lens for more expensive phones, but on the other hand, they are putting some effort to give relevant stuff, like bigger battery and faster charging, which is fair enough and will please common users.
