Anonymous, 30 Jan 2024 These brands seem to give dated chipsets in their devices... moreThe easiest thing to do, is to avoid buying phones like these.
I never found a viable replacement to my Nokia 8, with its more practical design and great specifications for the price point I bought it for.

What happened to the pre-2020 competition in the mobile market? Now it's just a bathtub curve with mediocre phones at atrocious prices.

ishreal, 30 Jan 2024People on here are so unrealistic lol. the vast, and I mean... moreI think this is a "barbones" phone for seniors and low budgets, and it serves the purpose well.

Apart from that, this is the lightest low end Android phone with a 6000mAh battery at the moment

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2024680if you say 685 then i must say ok. how 680?

any way Helio G85 is much faster than Snapdragon 685.

Asuran, 30 Jan 2024This chipset is around for more than 4 years. Why design an... moreIt's not for the US and other wealth markets.

At first I saw the 6,000 mAh battery and got excited, than I realized by the processor this is for the poor..

The price for this is significantly lower than for the non-Power version (100 euros for the Power compared to 150 euros for the regular). Why is that?

ishreal, 30 Jan 2024People on here are so unrealistic lol. the vast, and I mean... morePeople here forget that the majority of people are not tech nerds, nor even has knowledge about smartphone tech, and they just want a phone that works without lags, decent battery life and useable photos.

Also, most people who buys more expensive phones doesn't even know or care to dive deep into its settings to discover more about the phone and what it can do. They just do the same as common users: Internet browsing, social media, photos, videos and messenger apps.

Tech forums (and comment sections) are usually full of "'I know everything' people" that forgets that the real world is totally different from here.

People on here are so unrealistic lol. the vast, and I mean VAST, majority of people in this world don't need a Flagship Exxxtra Pro Maxx Plus Extreme to just connect with family/friends and do basic tasks like internet browse, social media, and access online payment sites or apps. this phone will do that and much more and more importantly last two whole days on a charge. that's literally all people need as the basics of a smartphone as a tool. No need for the useless AI crap or 5000x super periscope zoom or 1 billion score on Antutu.

The fact that it comes with adapter and charging cable is a huge plus.

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2024It must be a Chinese thing, lol.
These brands seem to give dated chipsets in their devices specifically for other international markets to make a profit while offering absolute mediocre tech.

They'd never release a G85 device solely in China in 2024.

There is no justification for using the G85/G88/emmc storage in 2024 - except to totally scam naive unknowledgeable uninformed individuals. And unfortunately it works, as people still stupidly buy the tech, without causing up a fuss.

Can you imagine the uproar if a laptop or pc brand released a new device that uses a chipset over 4 years old? Or even if they used an ancient HDD storage medium? The laptop/pc reviewers/bloggers would never let this go, but this type of proactive criticism doesn't seem to occur with smartphone reviewers/consumers.

Something needs to be done about this. Either boycott and stop buying these dated chipset based handsets, or lobby against this practice by raising awareness to it online or via complaints directly to the manufacturer.

This chipset is around for more than 4 years. Why design and release new versions of the same phone when you could provide software support for that phone for 4 years ?
