Anonymous, 31 Jan 2024I decided to get the smallest Samsung S24 after my iPhone 1... moreThis spooks me. But, GSMArena test says it's way better than that. Plus I have a A30 and I find its battery life is very good. Are you an Apple employee? well, it's working, I'm worried about getting a S24 now.

"To get into the phone, the back plate can be pried off after applying heat"
"front-facing camera is glued into place"
"The battery can be removed easily with a pull tab"
"prying off the screen without damaging it is almost impossible"
"In the end, the Galaxy S24 gets a 9 out of 10 reparability score"

Seriously, all glued up and it gets a 9 out of 10?

Then my PC is what, 3000 out of 10?

neo, 31 Jan 2024This does not change the fact that the main camera suffers ... moreShooting close-ups with a wide-angle lens has never been a great idea. Now we have pretty big sensors in phones and depth-of-field will be shallow together with field curvature. It's quite natural.

Good news is that S24 all have a 3x zoom which is great for shooting flat things like papers. Distance from camera (phone) to paper will be much bigger and field curvature is minimal in a telephoto lens (3x).

Any photographer knows shooting close-ups of a sheet of paper with a wide-angle lens has always been a pretty bad idea. It's just that image sensors in phones used to be tiny and you'd have very big depth-of-field. My Galaxy Note10 could even stop down to f/2.4 and get crazy sharp close-ups even though it was a wide-angle lens. Also phone cameras used to be 30mm or even more, now they are at 23mm (much wider lens = more distortion and "close-up problems").

Everybody wants a phone that can capture great images in low-light. It comes at a price unfortunately. But you have a 3x shooter which is perfect for those "A4-sheet scanning" tasks.

I decided to get the smallest Samsung S24 after my iPhone 13 mini’s battery started to give up battery life. - dear I made a mistake.

First of all the S24 feels and look really well made product.Very light and extremely fast(no lag),amazing sound from the speakers ,gorgeous display but that is it or at least with the Exynos version.

My phone hardly survived 4-4.5 hrs with minimum use.Settings were at 60HZ,no Bluetooth,no vibrations,no running apps in the background,no AOD,really at bare minimum.Couldn’t even finish a message or mail without the battery not going down by 2-3%.Very frustrating and annoying having a nice phone and just seeing the battery percentage dropping down faster than the light.I have just sent it back.Such a shame.Just to compare my 2.5 years old 13 mini had almost the same battery life with the same usage.Again,my friend’s SD3 S24 have no issues at all,so it tells everything about Exynos.

You need to soften the glue a bit with some isopropyl alcohol and pull slowly while letting the alcohol drip in under the battery on the glue. It's not hard. Zuln, 31 Jan 2024A Nokia 3310 would have score 25 if S24 have 9 out of 10Your basically comparing a banana with a potato.

Probably more deserving of a 7 or 8 given there's still stuff that's glued down, and removing the screen is apparently bad.

Well this aint Fairphones compared to them they have a lot to learn.
