justasmile, 03 Feb 2024The truth is that Samsung is just as 'uninnovative... moreIf a company like Samsung was not innovative, then no company on earth is innovative.

Imagine being called not innovative, after created and supplied smartphone parts to almost every existing manufacturer.

The best way apple can do right now is waiting the innovation of Samsung, and buy the product from Samsung.

Generally speaking, foldables can only be useful with a stylus, in my opinion. Hopefully, an embedded integrated one. Apple has never been fond of that idea. Which is reasonable, given how its customer base is more than happy to pay a 100 bucks for a separate stylus.

I thought jerryrigeverything has already shown that iPhone 15 Pro Max is in fact foldable

moonfern, 03 Feb 2024This strategic move has some benefits: A foldable tablet... more'A foldable tablet doesn't experience the same wear as a foldable phone.'

Huh? They fold. So they will wear out the same. Please don't be like those Samsung foldable fans who say it's fine because they only unfold their device 20% of the time and spend 80% on the external display. Yes, they exist. 🤣🤣🤣

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2024the truth is we're already using foldable phones 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 The truth is that Samsung is just as 'uninnovative' as Apple.

justasmile, 03 Feb 2024No, that's the truth. Samsung isn't innovative an... morethe truth is we're already using foldable phones 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

So a good battery life on a foldable in the future? But its going to be expensive

Finally someone will make a foldable phone useful.

This strategic move has some benefits:

A foldable tablet doesn't experience the same wear as a foldable phone.
The story of android apps not using the foldable screen estate versus the ipad app portfolio.

Preparing and managing the developers trough api changes and deprecated methods so that their apps don't look overblown or the opposite on large/small sizes if the ipad has two screens. Or an app should work side by side and full size if that ipad has one screen.

As soon as Apple has enough real life experience with foldables they can release a foldable phone, probably in 2028 but not in September .
That phone avoids the embarrassment as being the first foldable apple device.

1/3 of Samsung phones in the premium segment (>600$) in Europe were foldables.

Since Apple and Corning are basically husband and wives, Apple would claim 0 crease and actual, bendable glass and not plastic. Plus, Corning has made COMMERCIAL bendable and foldable class.

I suspect Galaxy Z and One+ Fold to use it in the coming years

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2024you mad bruh? No, that's the truth. Samsung isn't innovative anymore either.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2024Zero chance apple makes one unless the screen makers supply... moreWell, it's 2026-2027. By then, that should've happened.

By then, the inner screens should be much more durable and yeah, ready for the masses.

It makes zero sense for a $2000 foldable to "replace" the $500 iPad mini
