Today's midrange chips are the 7 Gen 1, or the D7020-7200. These chips range from SD855-SD865 performance, which are 4-5 year old flagship chipsets.

This is because of the messed up naming of the the SD7sG2, which should have been named the 6 Gen 2.

                          How do we go from 8 gen1 to 8+ gen1 to 8 gen 2 then to 8 gen 3?
And then the same company does 7 gen 1, 7+ gen 2 then 7s gen 2 then 7 gen 3???? Like wtf. All then need is 8 gen 1, 2, 3, 4 etc and that's it

They seem to be ditching the triple-digit 6xx, 7xx, 8xx naming scheme, which I think is a bad choice. That leads to very confusing and awkward-sounding names (e.g. SD 7s Gen 3+ Lite ???).

Dunno why they didn't just continue doing four-digit names. It's more intuitive to understand numbering systems.

They should learn from Intel's naming scheme. Just a simple 4 to 5 digit number. And they use letters for further distinction like K, F, and u, which are not confusing as long as you know what the letters mean.
